Here in France 1TB has become the "normal size" I mean it has become difficult (but not impossible) to find smaller than 1TB. Prices are usually around 100EUR (130$)
100 Euro ?
1TB costs like 30 Euro here

30? Is it a disposable disk?

That's insane, how are all the HD manufacturing in the f*cking world be located in almost one single place, and better yet, a place which is known for disasters like this. Man, don't they do some geographic study of the place before building a factory?
Thailand is getting more and more important on the global economical scene. Their rate of growth will be one of the most important this year (over 8%)
Unfortunately you're right. Moreover : lower production leads to rare products and rare products mean higher prices so societies won't lose money. They'll sell their products to higher prices to compensate
but then less people will buy soo, they loose money doesn't they? and they this only makes them either up even more their prices or broke. that mean total disk apocalipse for the next 1.5 year.
Chinese or indian competitors will integrate the market next years. Cards will be redistributed and "old" societies will have to face this or disappear. I went to Qatar a few weeks ago. I was surprised to see so many hi-tech shops and it wasn't american or japanese shops but chinese and indian ones (english spoken and dollars used though

)
