...Super Mario Galaxy 2?
Core 2 Quad Q6700 @ 3.2Ghz OC
6GB DDR2
ATI Radeon HD4870 1024mb
I'm getting around 30-60 right now. Feels very slow and unplayable when it isn't at full speed.
No, even with a Core i7 it isn't possible to maintain 60 FPS constantly, although on my i7 system I get between 55 FPS - 60 FPS with dips as low as 48 FPS - 50 FPS sometimes. With that system some galaxies will drop down to about 35 FPS - 40 FPS, such as Bowser's Lava Lair/Bowser's Big Lava Power Party and some other galaxies. The spaceship will also probably run at about 40 FPS - 45 FPS, sometimes faster depending what world you are in.
The game is very cpu intensive, nothing short of a better system and optimizations to the emulator's code will solve it, so you are getting the best speed that you can right now.
Thanks, yeah I'm usually running at 40-45 fps in the most intensive galaxies. Although other games like Smash Bros Brawl and New Super Mario Bros I get 60 fps constant.
