@Link_to_the_past:

- The 'ZTP Hack' option should be enabled for Zelda Twilight Princess (GC and Wii)

- For Crash Nitro Kart (GC) , Real XFB should be enabled to make the intro video and cutscenes appear. Just ticking the 'enable XFB' checkbox in the game properties doesn't do anything. This option needs to be set in the gfx plugin config, since there's no 'Real XFB' option in the game properties.

- Sonic Heroes (GC) needs EFB Scale set to x1 (Native) to get rid of the horrible black texture artifacts.

- For RDGPA4.ini and GKJE78.ini , the 'EFBCopyDisable' text line needs to be changed to 'EFBCopyEnable' to reflect the recent changes in the latest Dolphin SVN revisions.
New version is up. Among others it conforms to the r6475 changes for the ini files.

Gameconfigv006

Thanks Kirbypuff for the info. 1 and 4 are done, 2 and 3 i will need to confirm them, maybe in the next version.
New version is up

Gameconfigv007
heya, for Donkey Kong Country Returns: since r6480 XAudio2 doesn't crash anymore.
Why Enable Block Merging? Does it do anything with this game? you don't have to justify yourself or anything. I'm just curious Smile

Monster Hunter Tri: You have Dual Core, Idle skipping and MMU Speed hack disabled...while I can play with Dual Core and Idle Skipping enabled, I think the game even necessarily needs MMU Speed Hack to go ingame.

More stuff:

Sonic Heroes (GC)
---------------------

- The garbled text issue when the game is loading from the memory card can be eliminated by enabling Safe Texture Cache and setting it to 'Safe' (slowest) mode. It works, but there's a downside: a noticeable drop in performance.

- The 'black texture artifacts fix' (EFB Scale X1) works only with the DX11 plugin

Donkey Kong Country Returns (Wii)
-------------------------------------------

- Block merging gives a really nice FPS boost (10%+) in DKCR without any side effects. It's the only option that works well without introducing new glitches in the process (unlike Dlist Caching, for example)

Dolphin Quirks:
-------------------

Why is Dolphin always adding these lines to .ini file:

Code:
Watermark Tightness = 50
Enable Projection Hack = 0

even when you're just viewing the game properties (not changing any option)?
does this Block Merging work for all games? and does it always speed things up?

StripTheSoul, Block merging doesn't always speed things up, it is game dependent. Some games might slow down. Personally i have found that Donkey Kong Country Returns and Goldeneye have a nice speedup in the order of about 10 - 20%. It is similar to overclocking your processor from 3Ghz to 3,5 Ghz. And it doesn't seem to have any drawbacks like Display List Caching that can produce artifacts.

Here it crashed on the loading level screen. It is not entirely stable, i will think about it though changing the info.

I didn't. Most of my changes are for US region games as those are the games i have. Maybe it is another region you are using, and it has the default old settings (they are not changed by me). I try to change EU regions from time to time though (for Japanese games it is difficult since i don't know the language to understand the name of the game). Anyway it is a pain in the a## that the same game needs settings to be set for every different region. That's why i was asking for help with .ini files.

And kirbypuff, 1 and 2 are already done for the US games, for the 3rd i don't know since i am not a developer, probably it is because they are needed.
Heya, thanks for the information...I'll try Block Merging with some games then Smile
Oh, I thought the crashes wuth XAudio2 were gone, but if you still get them, fair enough.
Hm, but there must surely be a way the devs could make one game with several region versions look up one and the same ini file, no?
btw, in the game properties there's one option for safe texture cache...so, which "mode" gets selected by this? fast, normal or safe? Cuz in most cases "fast" is enough...there's only very few games that need more.

It depends where you left it last time you enabled it in the general graphic settings(normal if not tinkered at all). The setting that will be used is the one that seems selected while greyed out. Similar for xfb, the setting that is being selected while greyed out will be used(real or virtual xfb).
