Dolphin, the GameCube and Wii emulator - Forums

I am fairly new to the emulator scene and I am having a lot of trouble getting started. I am currently running an hp g72 with an Intel hd graphics card and windows 7 professional 64 bit. I downloaded the file and extracted it and tried playing luigi's mansion I first opened the standard dolphin.exe and it gave me an error that I was missing a dll file which I downloaded. I then tried reopening it and it gave me an error reading "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application." I then opened the other file called DolphinIL.exe which opened and then tried opening the file by double clicking it after I browsed for it and it appeared in the window and nothing happened after like a minute i double clicked it again and it gave me the error "emu thread already running" I clicked ok and then it gave me a second error "couldn't init the core check you're configuration". I just want to play my old games that I can't bring to my dorm because I don't have a tv here

Intel hd graphics card does not work at all with dolphin that why your getting that error.

You need to update DirectX, the web installer or full package can be downloaded from Microsoft. You might also need to install the latest VC++ Redistributable which can also be downloaded from Microsoft. Also download a newer build revision, they can be downloaded from any of the links below:

I don't know what dx9 is but I did install directx and now when I open dolphinIL.exe It freezes on me and when I open the regular dolphin.exe it says I am missing Plugin/Plugin_videoSW.dll but I checked and its there. Are you saying that there is no way to play my games on my comp?

You are using a very old build of dolphin. Its now long time ago, that the IL has been merged into the main exe.

I'm using build SVN R 6341 and if it helps at all because it seemed to help for ps2 I have an intel i3 processor with 2.4 GHz and 4 gigs of ram

Please try with a new clean folder and not overwriting an older version of dolphin. As I already wrote, the DolphinIL.exe is not existing since a long time ago anymore.
