lol

this is actually off topic and we should all stop about talking building computers.
How is it off topic, exactly? We're talking about your computer specs.

I don't care how long you've been building computers. I can't possibly think of a way to justify spending $70 on a water cooling system for a P4, when the same money will get you a cpu better than what you've got. If your expertise in building computers can justify that, I'll shut my mouth. I have no problem admitting when I'm wrong.
i didnt spend 70 dollars for the water cooling system and it purchased it around 40 dollars bidding at ebay.

second, i dont the p4 computer anymore due to having two other computers.
i was just talking about my experience when using my P4 computer for gaming . thats all.

even if i wanted upgrade my p4 computer

i could upgrade the cpu to a intel quad core
and 8 gigs of ram because there compatible to my motherboard.
knglrk Wrote:Pentium 4 631 3.4 oc to 4.2 with corsair hydro h50 all in one water cooling system
4 gb of ddr 400 ram
500gb seagate hard drive
ATI Radeon HD 4650 1gb video card
Lg dvd writer and a cheap $25 dollar with 500 watt
power supply

This is the computer I am talking about. We're on the same page, yes? Okay. You can get a fan, brand new, for $40, that can take a P4 to 4.2 ghz. If you're as experienced as you say you are, then why use water-cooling when you can get a fan that is 100% guaranteed not to leak all over your computer?

And my point still stands. If you can bid for a water-cooling system and pay $40, you can do the same for a CPU better than the P4. I don't get the logic behind it, just like how I don't get the logic behind spending all that extra money on a 500w psu you don't need. Were you planning to upgrade further or something?
alright my p4 computer that as a regular computer for my school work
and then i just added upgrades to it in the past three year i believe.
to answer your question. yes , im planning to upgrade this computer to a quad core
and will still use the water cooling system that Aerosol
hates so dreadfully
Haha. Water cooling is awesome, don't get me wrong. I just hate it when people overspend for the wrong reasons. If you're planning to upgrade, that's fine. I've put together a PC on newegg that has a few parts that some would say are little bit extravagant, but its okay because I'm only buying them for future upgrades!
well , at i've bought it because it didn't want to do DIY water cooling system that takes time create and im a lucky bidder at ebayTongue
sigh.... guys don't listen to knglrk. a pentium 4 is not good enough for wii emulation.... My phenom II x4 940 can't handle wii on a single core let alone a 2 generation old cpu.... You need 2 cores minimum... and then you need a good cpu. Core 2 duo clocked at 3ghz and upward should be the minimum requirement not a pentium 4. And where the hell can you even buy a pentium 4 now a days, India?!?!?

ya, they're still sold in countries like india, pakistan etc.

I also have a p4 640 @3.2ghz I bought about 5 years ago with a prebuilt pc, it fails at dolphin emulation, lol. (most games are from 10 to 20fps at the max, and those are just the 2-d games)

btw, I tried upgrading the gpu from a x600 to a radeon 3850 and it was horribly bottlenecked by the 640

not to mention for the relatively poor performance, the heat gets pretty awful. I'll prob get rid of it for 30 bucks.

we were not talking about pentium 4 playing dolphin emulator, we were primarily taking about pc games in general. please read the whole thread before you post.
