p4 cpu doesnt matter its all about the video card
and a near difference between high and enthusiast settings ( i will never use that setting because i could kill my desktop)
My pentium 4 computer can play crysis in high setting 30fps.

yeah, that pos is getting 30fps on high but at what resolution? 640x480? Lol, that computer isn't anywhere near a "gaming" computer.

People's idea of a gaming computer will vary.. I'm sure you guys knew that, but I think some people go too far with what's required to be a gaming computer..

I agree. Both sides are silly. Buying insanely cheap refurb'd parts is a bad idea and buying insanely expensive parts is a bad idea.
And knglrk what you're saying is that you actually run it on high at half speed, which is completely different. I'm sure you can turn it up to ultra and it would still run but that doesn't mean it's running at full speed.
Oh and if you just google "crysis on high with pentium 4" you'll find crysis being played on pentium 4's overclocked with far better GPU's and not passing 25FPS so I'm finding everything you say a bit hard to believe.

sure its hard to believe but some people that have Pentium 4 usually
bad problem with FPS.
there problem was that didn't have a good video card at that time.
as far i confirmed , i really think that pentium 4 was a great benefit for me before i got my gaming computer.
for me as my opinion pentium 4 computer still could be a good alternative low budget gaming computer. you just need
to need know was is great and what is bad in making a gaming computer.

At this time buying a pentium would be a huge waste of money since you can buy very cheap core 2 duos that will exceed a pentium by far. The P4 is a great device that changed processors for everyone but they're outdated and can not by any means be considered for a gaming computer.

lol@P4 hahhahahahaha pentium 4!!!!! good luck!

Yea really...come on. These are my computer specs right now.
P4 3.2 ghz
2gb Kingston RAM from Wal-Mart (lol)
PNY GeForce 8500GT
250W psu that came in this prebuilt piece of crap.
The only things I added to this computer (dx2200mt. Google it) were the ram and gpu cards. This system only gets about 22 fps on Sonic 4.
Besides, you spent all that money on a water cooling system for a damn P4? You're buggin' out mate. Either you're chatting horse dung or you have no idea what you're doing when it comes to building PCs.
