Dolphin emulated it perfectly for me. I was able to finish the game without any glitches unless you count snapshots, but we've got F9 for that.
Working well for me so far. I've finished the first world with no problems other than the same slowdowns everybody is reporting. The first water level runs quite slow though.
I found out that the OpenGL plugin works best for me...or maybe as well as DX9...dx11 has some "jittering" when side-scrolling.
And the boss crashes I seem to have fixed by choosing JITIL instead of JIT.

OpenGL works better for me than D3D9, which slows down at water and at the tank-part, thanks for the tip!

i noticed when i made the watermark 1000, boss crashes stopped. i'll try out ogl.
how well does this game work on the keyboard?
@ Nabs: have you tried JITIL?

You should be able to play fine except for tank mode, because you have to tilt the Wiimote to aim. You could try setting up keyboard controls for that, though I haven't tried it so I'm not sure how well it would work.

not yet, but i'll give it a go. ogl ran well. i also use it for nsmb when it feels a bit sluggish.
Keyboard controls are fine, you just need to set keys for the wiimote tilt left and right. Using the keyboard works quite well surprisingly.

And thanks for the watermark suggestion, i was getting a crash at the first boss, will try that out.
