Unfortunately due to the limitations of that igp in order to to fix that we would have to make changes to the way the z-depth buffer is used which would break all kinds of things in many games. Just get a video card.

Angry
I would if I could afford it, which is why I specifically asked for suggestions other than that.
But thank you for your reply.

This I understand.
I am thinking more along the lines of something I could do on my end.
If it's even possible?
Like maybe compiling different parts of the emulator that worked with the newer version?
I don't know.
Which is why I am asking.

I am a disabled Vet, and have nothing but time on my hands and a willingness to learn.

I am sorry but the drivers and hardware limitations of an intel igp make proper emulation impossible on them. And since the focus of this emulator is accuracy we had to stop supporting it in order to achieve our goals.

You previously posted a pic which was showing Wind Waker working fine on your rig with an old Dolphin revision. If the game runs well on that old revision, then why not keeping playing with it ? There is no absolute need of using newer revisions if the old ones work fine for you.
Can somebody help me? I got a problem in the Dragon Cave with the Wind, I got something screen that can make you blind lol
I'm talkin' about the textures

No need to be sorry bra.
Thing are what they are. Smile

You keep saying "we" in your replies, so I will assume that you had/have something to to with the development/continued development of the Dolphin Emulator.
I appreciate the efforts that you and everybody involved in creating and refining the Dolphin Emulator have made.
You all are an inspiration!
Much respect and hats off to you Bra!

I'm sitting here laughing because I have found that after my Military experience I kind of expect things to be the same way, but know that they aren't going to be.
For instance: when I asked a direct question, I expected a direct answer.
Like when I asked if there was something I could do on my end, like with compiling or something because I didn't know.
I expected an answer to the effect of; 'Sure, here is what you need to do ...', or in the alternative, 'No, there is nothing really that you can do ...'.
So I am sitting here laughing at myself for expecting something that I know I shouldn't expect. Tongue

Be that as it may.
My 'work around' for the game was to play the game in svn4598 up to a point where I needed more functionality, such as the camera, and then "save" and close.
Then copy the memory card file to the newer version and play it from there. 'Save state' also. Haven't been able to get that third shot right yet, but I'll keep trying.
But slinging those letters was fun. lol I selected "copy to - ram" for this which slowed the (FPS) and was able to get 32 letters in. lol
After completing these, I just save and close and copy the memory file back to svn4598 and continue playing from there.

I just started playing "Twilight Princess" and it seems to be run faster than "Wind Walker" on svn4598. Hopefully my 'work around' will work there also if it is needed.

Again; Hats off to you bra!
Thanks for your replies and keep up the good work.

No I'm not a developer. I guess I just say we because dolphin is really more of a community that we are all part of than a regular software project. And I've been in this community for quite some time now so I guess I instinctively say "we". I still try and contribute every way I can even if I'm not a programmer. I track down issues and find which revisions caused them. Help test patches. Write up configuration guides, wiki entires, and other useful articles of information. I also answer questions on the forums.

If you can give me the rest of your system specs I might be able to help you out.
I had Z-Buffer issues on an old ATI Rage-based laptop card back in the day when using N64 emulators. After many weeks worth of hours spent trying to fix the problems, I can tell you that you are wasting your time. Every time I did make progress I broke something else. Fixing those Z-Buffer issues requires a newer graphics card or special coding for compatibility. Use whatever version works best or buy a newer graphics card. You'll spend less time working for the cash to do so then trying to get it to work on your bad chipset.
Sorry, I couldn't reply sooner. I had a family emergency and had to leave state. All is fine now.
But it is just as well that I hadn't been able to reply earlier.

It sounds as if you do your part.
Just think if no one did what you do.

What you do... Is Commendable.

I don't know how my specs would help with this chip-set issue, but here goes...
  • HP Pavilion a6057c TV PC
    • Windows Vista Home Premium x86 (32bit)
      Intel® Core™ 2 Duo E4300 (1.8GHz, 2MB L2 cache, 800MHz FSB)
      3 Gb DDR2 PC2 4200 (533 MHz)

      Motherboard
      P5LP-LE (Leonite)
      Intel® GMA 950 Integrated Graphics
Integrated Realtek ALC888 High Definition 8 Channel Audio

Hauppauge ATSC and NTSC PCI FM TV-Tuner

      Etc...
    HP's Product Specs

It's definitely not a gaming PC, but all-in-all, it isn't that bad.

But like I said above, "it is just as well that I hadn't been able to reply earlier."
Why?
My Apt. lease was up and when I renewed it I got half off that first months rent. Woo-hoo! (Nothing like having extra money to spend.)

I betcha can guess what I did with it.
I got a new PSU, 600 watts, ... Yea!

...

... and a new video card, an ASUS ENGTS450 DirectCU TOP/DI/1GD5.

Now my only problem is not being able to make full use of the card. lol Like that is a problem with what I do. Ha, ha! Big Grin
Just got it installed yesterday.
Everything seems to be working just fine.

Anyways, thank you for taking the time to respond to my posts.
I appreciated it very much.

One good thing that has come out of this thread is, that if another person has the same chip-set they would now know that they could use Dolphin version SVN 4598 to play Wind Walker (without camera use) and Twilight Princess without suffering through any graphical issues.

I think I am going to start these games over now that I have no issues.

Cool
By the way I would recommend you use 5016 for wind waker and 6505 for twilight princess.
