I'm having difficulties getting the graphics settings right for the GameCube game The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. I have the PAL version of it. The game runs at a good framerate (no lag or anything) and audio sounds perfect, it's just the graphics are messed up.

Here's a screenshot of how the game looks:

Some of the graphical layers from the background are seen on top of other layers, where it shouldn't.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

I'm using the Dolphin Direct3D9 graphics plugin. The OpenGL pluggin crashes the emulator if I try to run a game with that selected. When I use the Dolphin Software Renderer, I get a yellow screen and then Windows tells me the program has stopped responding. I'm running Dolphin 2.0 btw.

Thanks,
DreOn

Okay I've just downloaded the latest 64-bit build that is available, which is Dolphin-x64-r6269.7z right now. I have the same graphics problem.

Any other suggestions?
What sort of video card do you have?

I have a Mobile Intel® 945 Express Chipset Family integrated graphics card.

And that is probably the culprit. Intel graphic cards are generally considered bad.
Yeah, that's a Z-Buffer issue, not sure if there's anything you can do to fix that, except maybe look for new graphics drivers.
Hi all!

I am new to the forum and thought I would use this topic to make my first post and hopefully give some more insight into the issue.

I too am running this with the same 'Chip-set' and have experienced the same issue.
Obviously those of us without video/graphics cards with this particular Chip-set are going to use the emulator.

It very well may be the 'Chip-set' as well as a 'Z-buffer' issue.
Yet something tells me it is in the coding of the emulator that causes this particular 'Chip-set'/Z-buffer issue.
...
Why would I say that?
Because older versions of the emulator didn't have the problem.

Pics of Wind Walker being emulated on the following releases: SVN 4598, SVN 4599, and the latest, SVN 6509

As you can see their is no overlay/see-through issue in SVN 4598 and is perfectly playable except for the well known issue of the camera not working.

The overlay/see-through issue first presents itself in the very next release, SVN 4599.
Which... in case you are wondering... is prior to the camera issue being fixed.

Around the SVN 4622 release. (not available in 4620, can't find a 4621 release), the dx9 config options allowed the user to choose between 'copy - to ram' or '- to texture'.

The darkness/shading issue you can see in SVN 4599 continues all the way through to SVN 4999 (if one chooses 'copy - to texture'), and no-longer presents itself in SVN 5000 and newer.
Choosing the 'copy - to ram' when it became available (around SVN 4620) fixes this darkness/shading issue but is much more un-playable under that option (very low FPS).
So no darkness/shading issue, but still see-through/overlapped.

The last release where the issue does not exist is release 4598. (see pic.)
Because the issue is not present in earlier releases, it is in the coding of the emulator that is causing this within this specific Chip-set.

Besides getting a better computer/motherboard or video/graphics card, is there anyone who has any suggestions on how to fix this or knows to whom I could report this issue to in hopes of a fix?
Don't use italicized and enlarged font if you want people to read your posts, almost as bad as all caps.

Form over content.
Got-cha!
Have since edited the post.

Do you have any suggestions in regards to the question I originally posed?
