Quote:Yes, then why is this guy talking about getting above 30 in zelda TP, is he just running it at double speed?

He is running it with the framelimiter off so that he can measure the speed his system is capable of running the game at. Whenever we do benchmarks with dolphin we always have the framelimiter off so we can get a real, and accurate measurement.
Phenom. 2MB more cache.

The i7 has more cache:
L2: 4 x 256KB = 1 MB
L3: 8 MB
L2+L3 = 9 MB

Phenom:
L2: 4 x 512 = 2 MB
L3: 6 MB
L2 + L3 = 8 MB

The Phenom has 1 MB more more L2 cache, but if I remember correctly, the i7's L2 is smaller on purpose because then it is faster. Overall, i7's 9 MB > Phenom's 8 MB.

Quote:Well hyrule field = 65 fps with fps limited at 65, it doesnt even flicker, havent tried the mario galaxy slow down place...

How far into the game are you? And are you using the tp speedup hack? Are you using efb to ram or efb to texture?

efb to ram, yes im using the hack , no its not the beginning of the hyrule field and i have the fps limmited on double speed, I dissabled it and im getting 70 fps on the huge open parts and 100+ on closed areas , its really funny to see it running that fast.

I have an issue though, although im using the efb to ram i still have no map on the playing screen, any ideas why?=
I'd rather have an extra megabyte of cache on my L2 than my L3 but you're right I guess in total it has more cache.

First of all you forgot L1 cache. Phenom II have 1MB of L1 total and I7 have 256K L1 total. So it's actually 9MB vs. 9.25MB. Second please take into account the differences in performance between different cache levels not just the total amount of cache. And third take into account that phenom IIs use static allocation for L3 cache while I7s use dynamic allocation for L3. In other words phenom IIs have a set amount per core (1.5MB per core) while I7s divide it up among the cores that are accessing it (so if 2 cores are using it each can access 4MB). Forth of all, wtf does this have to do with anything? Someone just randomly posted
