Yep, tri-channel DDR3-1600 ram and my i7 is OC'd to 4.0 Ghz, was 4.2 Ghz. Even at stock my i7 is quite fast, overclocking seems to have given me maybe 10 FPS - 15 FPS extra, possibly 20 at most. It's even faster if I compile and use an SSE4.1 or SSE4.2 optimized build.
dam...how much is the i7 dual core??
laptop version please lol
nvm ill just go look it up lol

thanx anyway

wow...expensive lol
I only paid $300 for my i7 950, not too bad if you ask me.

lol im tryin to go to college lol

anyway off topic lol

@hansenderek
I don't think I have ever seen someone use "lol" and "

" that many times in two posts before (and short posts I might add). It makes it annoying to read. Try to avoid using them in forum posts if you can.

Nope, he is correct about three threads maximum. With dsplle on thread the lle plugin is given it's own thread and therefore dolphin uses three threads. However since most people don't use the lle plugin or dsplle on thread for most people dolphin uses two threads, but it can use 3.

When xtreme gets his i7 rig back up and running I'm going to have him run some tests that will prove/disprove that the memory bandwidth is the cause of the speedup. So we will have our answer soon.
I've got my i7 back, I can provide some benchmarks. I sold my Core2Duo E8500 system so I can only provide previous results from memory.
My i7 was OC'd to 4.2 Ghz, but I lowered it to 4 Ghz along with the voltages to decrease temps until I'm able to properly reapply the thermal paste. Slowest part of Hyrule Field is 25 FPS - 30 FPS, if I disable the frame limiter it sometimes jumps up to 45 FPS - 50 FPS.
With my i7 950 and DDR3 1600 ram I have 25 FPS - 30 FPS in the slowest part of Hyrule Field without the speed hack, if I disable the frame limiter it sometimes jumps up to 45 FPS - 50 FPS. My Core2Duo E8500 @ 3.16 Ghz system with DDR2 800 ram only got 12 FPS - 15 FPS without the hack and overclocking to 4 Ghz didn't really make any difference.
My i7 at stock is even stupidly fast compared to my previous system.
I'm getting full speed in hyrule field, but my full speed is only 30 FPS. I'm not limiting the frames either, I have that set to Auto. No frameskipping either. Why do I get half the frames?
If it is set to anything other than "off" you are using a framelimiter (or in this case vps limiter). If you want to completely remove frame limiting you have to:
1. Uncheck audio throttle
2. Uncheck V-sync
3. Set the framelimiter to "off" regardless of whether use fps for limiting is checked. Unchecking that simply uses vps for limiting instead of fps.

Yes, then why is this guy talking about getting above 30 in zelda TP, is he just running it at double speed?
i really love to make a test with someone got a i7 920 930 with 260 vs my phenom 2 x 4 965 3.9 oc engtx 260 4 go ddr 2 1066 hyperx to see really the differnce how many fps i lose vs intel sorry my poor english ddr3 and ddr2 it is very a big difference i got ddr2 1066 5 5 5 15 my friend 1600 8 8 8 20
