I think this logic doesn't really apply: "Most users of backup launchers are pirates, therefore no support for backup formats". As pirates will pirate their games anyway. And also remember, "All legal users of Dolphin somehow rip their games." So you would assume a lot of them might be the few legit users of backup launchers, as they're already ripping their games. And it is faster to rip the games directly to a compressed format, and not have to dump the entire iso an then compress it. Of course I'm not arguing against the scrubbing issues.

Seeing how #wiidev and others refuse to support those (few, I might add) legit users that "just" want to dump their games, I can't imagine this to be the case.

I'm fine with wiihttpd, does the job just fine. All it needs is configured WLan. Apart from that, there are others available that simply need DVDX or the new HBC to do it, no cIOS crap involved.

Why compress them? You get TBs of space for barely any money nowadays; and dumping without compressing should sure be faster than that.
