Im trying to record videos of super smash bros brawl replays on dolphin, but all the recording software i have tried so far makes my fps drop to around 10fps, making it run very slow =/

Any advice on what software to use or how to improve fps when recording?
I'm using Fraps.
Use need a powerful CPU to record on Fraps.Camtasia and Glowler Guncam are lighter than Fraps (take less FPS)
Depend on the games,Fraps may take more than half FPS
But i only have Fraps because it's easier to use
Fraps is easy to use, but causes some serious framedrops. You can edit the video to make it fast.(video)
There is no way to do like that.If you're talking about movie maker speed 2x ,it would be too fast
no.... I make brawl videos, it makes it 30fps.... i just make it twice fast... 60 fps Big Grin
I'm trying to use fraps and use a variety of settings but then the fps in game drops to around 9 fps =/

Anyway to boost it?

1. Get a quad core cpu and setup dolphin and fraps so that dolphin uses the first 2 cores (use lock threads to cores and set the threads in task manager) and fraps uses the other 2

2. Make sure you have enough ram, at 3/4GB.

3. Have at least 2 internal HDD. Give fraps its own HDD. For example lets say you have 2 500GB HDD, drive C: and D:. Set fraps to output to D: while your game isos and dolphin are on C:.

If you set everything up right you should get very little decrease in performance from using fraps, OCing or upgrading your cpu will also help obviously.

If the video was recorded at 30 fps or rendering at 30 fps then all you are doing is duplicating frames during the encoding process. Unless your talking about increasing the actual speed of the video not just the framerate, which like admin89 stated would make it run to fast.
i am just increasing the speed of playback time..... Tongue

Erm could you please give me more detailed instructions I'm not good with that stuff, and here is the spec I have of the stuff you mentioned:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200

4GB Ram

For drives I have C (327GB) and E (591GB)

Is this what you mean?
