Hi guys,

first of all thanks for the emulator ^^.
I am trying to play a game(Xenoblade) on my laptop, and tried diferent set ups but... still doesn't go right. Maybe around 22 or 24fps dropping on fights...
But what I don't get is why my CPU is not running 100% speed? All the time I am running Dolphin never reaches the 100%. How can I prioritize or get that full speed on the emulator?

Thanks in advance ^^

Emulation simply requires a lot more CPU then the original GC/Wii needs, your CPU might not be good enough to run it fully.

but even is not fast enough, it will use all the CPU speed to try to get it fast, dont you think?
That's what i mean. When running the emulator the system doesn't go slow at all... as the emulator sometimes uses only 54% of its speed.
So, how to get the emulator to use the CPU full power?
The emu can use two CPU, see that dual core is checked in the configuration. If you have 4 cores Dolphin can't use them all. If you're running on batteries, the laptop is probably set to some power saving mode that allows limited CPU usage
the dual core thin is checked, the laptop is plug to the mains and set to "high performance" mode ^^
as far as i know the i-3 are 2cores. acting as 4 threads but still 2cores. and it looks like uses a bit of all but...as said 55% or so only (on the CPU meter gadget)
your gpu may be bottlenecking your system so even if your cpu runs faster, dolphin wont run faster because your gpu needs to be faster and so on.
Yes the i3 has only 2 cores but it will act as a quad core, AKA 4 threads because of the HT.
Dolphin, with the dual core enabled, will only use 2 cores, AKA 2 threads (in a simple sense).

Some people have reported a speed boost in Dolphin by turning Hyper-Threading Off.
yes. you need to TURN OFF HT in your bios!
then dolphin will use the 2 real cores instead of emulating a game on only 1 real core and 1 fake core.
HT makes dolphin use only real 1 core as 2 cores... this is like driving a car while using the handbrake... or better: drinking a glass of coke through ONE straw that has two endings to your mouth... you can suck on the 2 endings as hard as you want... there won't come out much more then from a straw with only 1 mouth-ending.
I'll try that, thank you ^^
humm..... unfortunatley I can't find any way to turn off the HT >_<...
that option is not in my BIOS

any ideas?
