Hiiiiiiiiiiii EveryBody ! Cool

i got these specifications :
=========================
athlon II X2 250 @ 3.5GHZ <STOCK FAN> Big Grin
2GB DDR3 1066MHZ
4200HD IGP @STOCK Confused
======================
I wonder if the fps decrease i got is a result of the gpu weakness , as i play sonic unleashed on 3207r and got all settings right (native resolution).

The game is full speed at menus , cutscenes , and when the 3D earth appears also , but when i get to gameplay , i cant get over 20fps .

I know the max is 30fps but the sound is stuttering and gameplay is not so smooth Dodgy

another question ! why dolphin dont use both cores and GPU @ 100% ? i guess this would give a speed boost ! " look at pictures to see what i mean '' Tongue

i got some pictures hope they might help !

Thank you guys out there , u've been always helpfull to the dolphin community !

Please People out there Help , Other Games Like Super Mario Galaxy is Just at 25 to 40 % of full speed ..

do i need to reconfigure the emulator or try another revision or the GPU is bottle necking my PC ?

IN SMG2 I USE 6174 !!

I'D APPRECIATE THE REPLIES Blush

e and no body responds ? please people help !!
sonic unleashed worked much better in older revisions, with my 2.33ghz quad core, with 3147 i got full speed almost all the time, now with recent revisions, i get 15-20 fps
Yes, your current GPU will slowdown the speed by half or more depend on the games because Ati 4200 isn't a real graphic card,it locate on your motherboard(very small).You should buy Ati 5770 to play games fullspeed
thanks for the replies !
@channjose : i'll try to grab that revision :p
@admin89 : thanx about the info but i know that the GPU is embedded in the northbridge :p , just wanted to know if its enough for dolphin or not !

maybe i'll think of 5670HD Smile would it be good enough to play most dolphin and PC games at high frames , maybe resolutions less than 1280 x 1024
but no body answer this question :
"why dolphin dont use both cores and GPU @ 100% ? i guess this would give a speed boost !

That's a good question.

The answer to this question is that it's likely a nightmare to program Dolphin to use two threads simultaneously. And with thread counts quickly approaching and exceeding 12, it's not as if they can just flip a switch and tell the emulator to effectively use all 12 threads.

When Dolphin was made originally, Dual cores were a new thing. No one knew much about multi threaded cores.
thanx for the info , i needed an answer badly Smile
i need an answer for another question ... as i want to know more about multithreaded coding ...

How Can Dolphin handle managing the work load of the whole emulation process ?
I mean how the work load is disributed over the 2 CPU cores and the GPU ?
C'mon People Where's The Replies ~?

1 core handles emulation of wii cpu instructions, and 1 handles sound / emulated gpu (but there is an option to create separate thread for audio if you use LLE)
Everything visual is rendered by physical gpu that interprets directx/opengl orders it gets from client.

What graphics board I will need at least for 1920x1080 at 60Hz that will not be the bottleneck at full speed?

Actually I am running on an Gainward GeForce 8600GTS 1024MB.

Must not be a NVIDIA card.
