Admittedly its not a gaming machine and I primarily use it for actual work but it runs dolphin fairly decently.
Best feature is the screen res compared to the screen size. 1920x1080 on a 15 inch is just awesome, I have 20/20 vision and cant make out the pixels. I just hope that whatever my next laptop(not for another good 3 years if not longer) will be can keep up, it doesnt appear to be a common thing.

Hehe..... mine isn't really a gaming machine either. I built it more for folding, photoshop, 3D modeling/rendering, etc, but it does pretty well in gaming too.

Yo lol If that isn't a GAMMING RIG then I don't know what is. If you used it mostly for work then why not the one Quadro graphics cards which probally would have been the better choice for those applications. With those specs how well does the emulator work for you?
But all in all the second question, should the emulator make optimazations for the average commputer specs or for hardcore gamers? from the most post here in sig it seems you are on the high end of the spectrum.

I think they need to work on adding more threads to dolphin.... put all 12 of mine to use.
Dolphin runs..... ok on my rig. Lots of slowdowns in Prime.
I chose the 480s over Quadro because the Fermi core is so good at those applications, that even the Geforce series outperform last gen Quadro cards in those situations. Plus it allows me to game.
(not to mention the price difference :O)

If they did that you be one of the few who can run it, everbody else would be left out.

Threading wouldn't slow anyone down, it would just speed others up. Example: Folding at home.
