It sounds like he put them both in the same folder... bad idea since some configuration formats and plugins have changed

at this point, it's a guessing game.
I guess I changed a setting ,I had Plugin_GCPadNew instead of Plugin_GCPad and the new one didn't take. problem solved. Thanks for trying.
