On my test system, I had a 10.04 64 Bit system installed and i had the same problem.
So it seems, that this is not a 32 Bit problem.
I tried, to upgrade my test system to Ubuntu 10.10, but after upgrade a had no GUI any more.
Next I tried to install Ubuntu 10.10 32 Bit from CD, but the installation process let me not partition the Disk.
I will next try to install Ubuntu 11.04 Alpha2 32 Bit.
I will report my experiences here.
Evening Dolphin community. Was reading this topic, and I happen to be running Dolphin 32-bit on Ubuntu 10.10 64-bit. Here are my current specifications:
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965
GPU: AMD Radeon 5850
Memory: 8GB DDR2 667 MHz
OS: Ubuntu 10.10 64-bit
EDIT: Another note, I am using AMD Catalyst 11.1 WHQL drivers.
I was playing Ikaruga a moment ago without any real issues. Framerates did drop of course, but I do have everything set to have HQ Anti-Aliasing, etc... Other than that, no real bugs.
The only real steps I can give you to getting Dolphin downloaded and installed is by using the Ubuntu Software Sources installation method, which can be found
HERE.
For those who have Ubuntu already and just want the terminal commands:
Code:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:glennric/dolphin-emu
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install dolphin-emu
The version of Dolphin Emulator that I got from that repository was R7121. It works very well for me so far, and I'll be testing Metroid Prime as soon as I can. I'll report back with my results.
So at last I managed to install Ubuntu 10.10, 32 Bit on my test system, with the NVidia 173 driver for my GForce 9800 GT.
The Problem with the black screen still remains.
I get FPS - 0.
So I think, that just the Game WiiPlay won't work yet.
Unfortunately, I have no reference Game to test with.
I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 x64 and I got pretty much full speed in many games, also I can play WII games, and for experience I can tell you that 32bits versions always get less speed (10 fps, sometimes more)

. Have you tried other wii games?
