There is no way this would increase speed whatsoever, particularly on crappy systems. I can actually tell the difference when a game is not running full speed, so post some comparison videos and prove me wrong if you desperately believe this increases speed.
Well i tried it out too out of curiosity with Battalion Wars 1, and i agree with what you say. It gave a 42fps indication while it was sub 30 in game definitely. Used fraps and fraps gave the same indication in both cases. It is a fake doubled fps indication. Applepeach just use fraps with and without the overlaying text ...You will get the same numbers...

Well this is what one of the developers basically said lol.
"how can a program level text mode display increace how fast the actualy game code gets executed or textures rendered"
"some people like to pretend it's true
"
"let them use it then lol"
"tell them if they run 2 instances of dolphin they get to play wii2 games with it" <-- This is especially funny.
I'm done arguing, have fun I guess.

I'll use FRAPS as the indicator on the next video.

Yo X sorry everyone is arguing. Anyways, you said that there were no comparison vids out so I'll go make one, since the one's arguing with you dont have the blz to make one. When you say comparison, you mean run it for a while normally, then run it with overlay right?

Well your eyes deceived you lol.

save video
use hyper cam again and reopen the same state and use the text to the left thing and record for about two mins
save video
sign up for youtube and upload the videos and post the links here and tada you have proof or no proof!!!!

Or you can run fraps as mentioned which should display the actual fps, and you will see there is no difference in actual game speed.
I can understand that you guys hold onto hope that games will become more playable on older and underpowered hardware and want to believe that this trick actually works, I can understand considering I used to be in the same predicament for a while. However, the only way speed is going to get better is by buying new, more powerful hardware or waiting for the developers to optimize the emulator, that is the only thing that will improve speed. The developers know better than we do and even they pretty much agreed there is no way that this would increase actual game speed and that this trick just artificially increases fps/speed.
There were similar speed up tricks that were reported in the past, believe me when I say this isn't the first. It was agreed by the developers after testing that none of the tricks improved actual game speed despite an increase of fps.
Hopefully a developer can take the time to pop in this thread and voice their thoughts.

Listen to Xtreme, please, he / she is telling the truth. Even if it shows an increase in FPS, it is redundant as it is probably fake, it says it is faster but it isn't.
Even if it works, which I doubt, (how can simple text increase speed? game bugged?) it's only for 0.1% of all Wii games.
