WTF?....ok ok
i tried this, but on me it came out differently
i played mario kart normally, speed was 80%-90% but it felt like i was getting fullspeed, the movements were pretty fast and accurate, i do the overlay statistics thing, readings say 100% speed, but the game feeling is much different, it feels as if the game is slow/slugish, i can even see it in the manual drifting thing, the moment the racer jumps is much faster, while with overlays statistics, sais full speed, but the guy jumps in slow motion... hope this was useful info

I already get full speed on Mario Kart Wii besides the normal stuttering when starting a race, this trick doesn't seem to affect any of my games.
I can also confirm that on my 2008 HP pavilion dv6000 laptop ( 1600 GHZ ) I can now get 50-80 % speed on almost any game 480p ( compared to before 10-30% 320p )
Dolphin is not very demanding... It's just poorly coded.
Edit:
With OGL I get 50-80% speed ; With D3D9 I get 70-85% ( Both tested on Mario Kart Wii &nd SSBB ) 1600 GHZ!!!

write a better code then.
don't go running your mouth off if you don't know what you're talking about.
Anyone tested this on an AMD CPU?
Edit - Nope, doesn't work on AMD CPUs.
Quote:The revision im using in the screen shot is
Dolphin x64 SSE4.1 SVN revision 6075

Another Edit - Wait, the SSE4.1 version? It definitely won't do a thing for AMD CPUs then.

Last time I checked I have not once said anything whatsoever about writing a better code...
I simply said that it isn't coded for the most efficiency possible. If my 1600 GHZ laptop can run games 80% speed, because of a simple ( Show statistics checked ) something is obviously defected in the coding... Therefore someone who knows about C++ can fix it.
Also, this could be a breakthrough in dolphin emulation... Lower end computers can now get decent speeds by checking show statistics. &nd using 320p

Oh wow. I got a HUGE boost in fps using this!( FPS meaning not just numbers like in Gundam's situation but everything moves so much faster). This is like a loop hole or something. Can someone please get on this and see if the next few revisions can implement whatever is causing this boost in the next rev. I'll post a few vids on how fast things move on screen.
It looks like one step closer to getting full speeds on dolphin.
btw, i just joined to say thanks to ajaxx in his find.

The stats in your sig is what you tested it on? Which version did you use? He says it's the SSE4.1 version. I tried that version, but it wouldn't even boot up because I don't have SSE4.1. I tested a SSE3 version and I also didn't see any difference at all, and my CPU is faster than yours. It's not super duper ultra fast mind you, just faster by a little.

It looks like it's working best on ppl that have low power computers. So the lower the better? Also try other games you own, not just mario kart..you might just find one that gets increased. Pick one of the ones that run slow already. if you have zelda, give that a shot(who knows). Just make sure that the XFBs are enabled. Though it looks like only games that arnt shakey when XFB is enabled will have the higher possibility of working.
It's been working wonders for my basara, so experiment.
edit-- im using the sse3 version
