There are two things:

1. Configure the buttons via Gamecube Pad Settings
2. Options > Configure > Gamecube > Port 1 > Standard Controller

I just tried the options. It was already set to regular controller. It still responds to my keyboard, but not to my controller. I am using this.

Does the controller work with other games and emulators? If not, try updating the drivers. If it does, change the pulldown on the top left hand corner of the Gamecube pad settings to the MayFlash controller.

Also, quite obviously, you have to be playing a GameCube game or a Wii game that supports GC controllers.

I have tried 2 games and it didnt work for either, and the drivers on the website are current I believe. I just re downloaded them and its set to regular controller in the configuration and under the devices section for the GC Pad I have a "SDL/0/USB GamePad, SDL/1/USB GamePad, DInput/0/Keyboard Mouse, DInput/0/USB GamePad and DInput/1/USB GamePad"
It's probably a driver problem. Long shot, but try the 32bit version of Dolphin.

Also, have a read of this:

Its not the 3 in 1 joybox or anything. Just the GC connectors only. I have downloaded the drivers and it says its working and everything is minus it ACTUALLY working in a game. What should I do??

I've actually just ordered the same one. Im assuming once recongised by the OS you can select it from the drop down menu. See screenshot below. Let me know if that works.

I have tried setting it to what the poster in the other thread and it still didnt work, and I couldnt find some of the controls to set. I just cant seem to get it to work. :/
Did you try the Window x86 version of Dolphin? http://dolphin-emu.org/download/

The adapter or controller might be faulty. You might have to return it.
My adaptor is arriving today from Amazon so I will test and report back as well.. I don't know if its true with the gamecube adaptor as well but the Mayflash 64 adaptor I have only works with official Nintendo controllers not third party ones.

The Mayflash adapter is working fine for me with the the official dolphin 3.5 x64 release. You do realize you have to select the controler in the dolphin setup and press each button and then save the gamecube controller config. See attachments

If it helps I have already configure the pad and uploaded the settings in the zip file. Extract and replace the one in the Dolphin/User/Config folder :-)[attachment=9395][attachment=9396][attachment=9397]
