I'm trying to play Metal Gear Solid on Acer Aspire 4530.
It has an AMD Athlon QL 60, Nvidia Geforce 9100mG and 1 GB RAM.
The proc supports 3DNow!+, SSE3 instructions. See the shot of CPU-z:

And GPUz for GPU:
I have tried the latest 2.0 build and also the SSE3 revision builds 6080, 6087; but no improvements with any. I'm just able to get FPS of 19 while playing the game with Dx9 plugin which is far sluggish.

I've tried various combinations of settings but in vain.
Please do suggest something.
I'm using XP 32 bit.
Use the search button, it has everything you need !
I already did that. The problem is apparently with the SVNs. How could each one is running the same?
Sorry, your specs isn't powerful enough to play this game and other game fullspeed
Recommend :
CPU: Intel/AMD Dual Core 2.4Ghz or better
GPU: Ati/Nvidia medium to high-end (Nvidia 8600Gt or Ati 4670)
Ram : 2Gb speed 800Mhz or better
Use Windows 7 64bit for boostspeed
Oh...
Isn't there any way at all?

Whoa!

I used R6080x32_SSE3 of Lectrode's and the FPS went up by 3.
So, possibilty of tweaking is there.
But; sigh! majority of people in forum talked about the same problem of low FPS even with high end specs, like
here.
Also, Lauri777 said that even with c2d 3.2Ghz and radeon HD 4830; the game is not upto speed
here.
A rework on part of the emu is really overdue for this game; I think.
Please, the coding clan; do something. I loved the MGS on PSx; that is the sole reason to play it on GC. And just for this game; I don't want to buy the console.
Also, the frameskipping is not working with this game. Even PCSX2 (PS2 emulator) works better than Dolphin on my notebook.
And enough dear 'anthonyda'. If you couldn't help, please don't post your wisecracks.
Tried the PAL version of this game & it is working better than the NTSC one. Giving FPS around 20 with JIT; the problem remains with the cutscenes that hang randomly. Also, the experimental JITL is giving FPS around 23; but the pad is not working fine with it; the down key is not fuctioning in down manner. Both the up & down key has same effect.
I'm using 'SVN R 6080M SSE3' of Lectrode.

Yes, we have an
issue open for this one. It is a hard one to fix.

wish I could help you but I'm not a coder and your comp specs are just not enough to play most games at full fps. Dolphin requires a LOT of CPU power to emulate these games. It's a big bottleneck and problem and the devs are working on it right now. It might take a while but hopefully they'll figure it out.
