Ok so ive bee nreading about open cl and whenever i use it nothing different happens...no batch file cmd screen or anything executes...when i open up gpuz it says tht open cl and cuda are both supported....so im not really sure what to do cuz ive downloaded cuda and the SDK...and everything....can anyone help me....i just want to see if i can get it to work Tongue
ive wondered about this too. i dont see any difference speed wise and im not sure whether its working or not. only thing ive noticed is some minor graphical corruption with opencl enabled. cmd window opens 2-3 times with no text.
Whats this open Cl thing you guys are talking about? i haven't used dolphin in a wile but i don't remember any open cl option :/
what svn are you using? all the older builders i used to have major graphic problems with opencl but the newer one 6000+ I don't and it never gave a performance boost.
Opencl will only offer a speedup if you have a good gpu but a crappy cpu. It moves the texture decoding work onto the gpu. It's also less accurate than the older method which did it on the cpu.
I have an i7 920 and an Nvidia 9800 GTX+. I get no speed boost from opencl at all.
lol ok tht makes sense now Tongue thanx for the replies it must be working then lol Tongue

open CL is a new option in the emulator tht for most ppl should give a performance boost cuz not everyone have god like cpu for dolphin to work with
Actually I would think that for most people it WOULDN'T give a speed boost. Once again this is just theory but I would think that the only people it would give any benefit at all to are the people with a really bad cpu (we're talking single core or really low athlon X2 here) and a really good gpu (probably about 9600GT or better on the nvidia scale). If you've got either a good cpu or a crappy gpu I doubt it would make any difference so it's best to leave it off since it can still cause problems with a few games.
It only speed ups loading of textures(loading times) and doesn't increase fps at all. It works fine in most games.
lol k i never fully understood it...thts all lol
