Here are my specs....
Intel Core 2 Quad @2.4
6 Gig ddr2
Radeon HD 2600 XT
Win 7 Ultimate x64
Trying to play TP but cant seem to get more than 20 frames right off the bat.. I get about 40 at menu screen but in game hovers at 18-20.
Is that about what I should be getting or am I just being too greedy
Edit: i followed the configuration guide and it didn't seem to improve anything
i think the graphics card is holding you back. it is kind of old. but then again try these settings:

i'm guessing that intel core 2 quad is a Q6600, so i think the processor is good...
gundam is right, your card is underpowered compared to the rest of your system (which is good enough otherwise for dolphin).
Fortunately you can get a very good card for dirt cheap these days.
For example a radeon 5570 would only
cost about 85 bucks and run all your games at full speed (not taking into account anti-aliasing or other perks)
Ok, Thanks guys appreciate the help I figured that might be the problem i've been looking into getting a new video card and overclocking my processor... then i should be able to run most games i'm assuming
That is correct, for strict use with dolphin i also recommend that card.
But if you wish to put that quad core of yours to good use i recommend getting a slightly better video card.

oh god, no. A 5570 is horrible, You want a 4800 series or a 5770 and up. 5570 is low profile trash.

DO NOT insult video cards in any way, ocean simply stated that decent video cards are up for the grabbing for cheap!

PFTTTTHAHAHAHAHA. Omg, I'm sorry, but that sounded hilarious. A low profile card is just a graphics card that has low power consumption. In addition to low power usage, its got weaker hardware and is pretty low end. He can get a 4850 for about 100 bucks and it will play everything including regular pc games maxed out.

The wisest decision to make here would be to wait for the OP to inform us on what he does with his pc.
I actually just purchased the Geforce GT 240 from newegg 94.99 with 30 dollar rebate ended up being cheaper than the radeon 5770 (79.99) and at these times my money is most important... especially with school haha
