Dolphin, the GameCube and Wii emulator - Forums

Is it possible to emulate games with Dolphin using the actual physical retail disks?

If not, it would be a sensible feature to consider for the future, possibly. Downloaded ISOs tend to be riddled with bugs, especially since Nintendo is buckling down on piracy prevention this year.

You would likely need one of the special DVD readers regardless, so although a valid feature, I doubt the prgrogrammers consider it a high priority.

Also please note that downloading roms in any shape or form, or discussing them is frowned upon on this forum.

not only is downloading roms/isos frowned upon on the forum, it is illegal in most places

Just dump the game using your Wii, safe and completely legal in most countries.

I'd love to be able to run games off the retail disc without ripping. That way, my m-itx computer/laptop could be a wii.
