Thermaltake is not a good brand. They have some pretty sucky capacitors. PC Power and Cooling, Corsair, OCZ, silverstone, enermax, antec, and many others are all good brands. I tend to look more at the specific unit rather than the brand (although some brands have definitely built up quite the reputation over the years they still occasionally release bad models/units).
Since higher quality PSUs tend to be a lot more expensive for obvious reasons everyone has to find their own personal sweet spot between quality and price. For example even though I tell people not to cheap out on the psu since it's so important I also tend to lean new builders away from brands like pc power and cooling because even though they make great units they are extremely overpriced.

bro...so are you saying Thermaltakes's whole psu line is bad? That all of their models have bad capacitors and that voltage regulation and distribution has nothing to do with a good psu? Yes, the brands you named are good brands. Are there ones in their psu lines that have cheap capacitors yes. Can you honestly say my thermaltake has cheap capacitors? Stop talking out of your ass just to say Thermaltake psu are bad.

I am well aware. Would it help if I rephrased it as "the majority of thermaltake psu have bad capacitors and are overall, shit. They have gotten better in recent years but still have a bad reputation as a psu company and most of their units are still widely considered crappy by review sites."? Sure they make SOME good units but overall they are an unreliable brand.

Awesome! Now I'm concerned about crossfire (for years ahead). 2 hd5770s require 600w. Will it overload or is 600w just a recommendation?
