TBH I wouldn't buy an Athlon II X3 or X4, the X2's are fine since you don't really need shared cache on a dual core. The X3/X4's may be extremely cheap quad cores but they come at a cost, they have no shared cache of any kind and the cache each core does have is very low and the cost of that is very poor performance unless the application makes each core do very specific tasks. You'd be better off getting a Phenom II X3 720BE than the Athlon X4.

EDIT: Also I just saw that power supply you listed, BAD IDEA! You should never EVER skimp on a power supply, the power supply is the most important component in the system, a bad power supply can destroy your entire system if it fails. Bad power supplies usually have bad voltage outputs and also bad ripple which can destroy your hardware. If you're buying from ebuyer you should get this http://www.ebuyer.com/product/150985 That power supply is brilliant, cheap, quiet under low loads and it's very stable.

Your choice but dolphin i think does not make use of cache also the x3 and x4 do not have very poor performance believe me look @ my spec in my sig and i get fantastic peformance.

Please ebhomepc read my post. I said that the Athlon II X3 and X4 give poor performance, nowhere did I mention the Phenom II's giving bad performance. The Phenom II's are in a different league of performance to the Athlon II's.
I want to buy a X3 or X4 thinking in other uses (not only dolphin).
Then do you think AMD Athlon II 250 X2 Dual Core 3.0Ghz is good enough for dolphin. is it best than X3-X4?

Sorry i dont think its good choice you should be going for a phenom not Athlon and a minimum of 3.0GHZ but thats ust my opinion.
There is a world of difference..

Phenom/Phenom II: Good for dolphin, should be good speed in most games
Athlon: Not so good... Equals a low to middle- end core2duo or pentium d depending on model

If I were you and looking to build an AMD system, I'd just get a phenom II processor. They are not expensive at all & give fairly good performance, about on par with i3/i5 processors. On phenom II x4 and radeon 4800+ card, you'll probably get 100% speed in most games (maybe slight dips in mario galaxy or zelda).

That's totally false, the Athlon II x3/4 are at least as fast as a similar clocked Athlon II x2 in 95% of cases and faster in most cases using Windows 7. Of course a Phenom II with the same number of cores and Mhz will be faster, though certainly not in another league as you say later in the thread.
