Hi yes that should do you might have to clock you cpu a bit bump it to 3.3 or 3.4 if you can.
Hi
I don´t want to do OC. I prefer to spend more money in a better processor.
Which processor is better for dolphin without OC (AMD family)?
Thanks.

Hi it all depends on what socket you have am2+ am3 etc and how much you are willing to spend if your not willing to overclock you need a 3.4ghz that should do most games i play all games fine with a phenom IIx4 3.4 no overclock you see dolphin only uses 2 cores so if your needing a new cpu just for dolphin just get any amd dualcore at least 3ghz hope this answers your question.
How does Dolphin handle low cache? The athlon II's have only have 128KB L1 cache per core and 512KB Level 2 cache per core. If you're going AMD you'd be better with a Phenom II X2 wouldn't you for that 6MB L3 cache.

As far as i can tell dolphin just uses raw prossessing power doesnt much matter for cache i think.
Finally I choose this configuration:

AMD Athlon II 630 X4 Quad Core 2.8GHz AM3 Box 81.03 1

Asus M4A785TD-V EVO Socket AM3 74.14 1

Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus 19.83 1

G.Skill Ripjaws PC3-10666 DDR3 1333 4GB 2x2GB CL8 99.14 1

Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA2 MAESTRO 39.66 1

Cooler Master Dominator CM-690 56.03 1

Tacens Radix IV 450W 25.82 1

Asus Radeon HD 4670 1GB GDDR3 63.79 1

LG GH24NS50 Grabadora DVD SATA 24x Negra 17.20 1

TOTAL: 552€

I think the processor is good enough but I doubt if the graphic could run games like mario galaxy 2, mario kart...

What do you think guys?[/b]

Hi not 100% on this but i think your opinion is the wrong way round that gpu should will run any dolphin game and the cpu is nice as its 4 cores but i think it may be to slow. Like i sead dolphin only utilizes 2 cores if it used 4 then this would be fine.

Ok if its purley for dolphin and you cant spend to much this is a better choice as its a higher clock rate and dolphin only uses 2 cores AMD Phenom II X2 555 Black Edition 3.2GHz Socket AM3 6MB Cache Retail Box Processord £82 but if you can go higher price then this AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Socket AM3 3.2 GHz 8MB L3 Cache Retail Boxed Processor £132 or even better AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition 3.4GHz Socket AM3 8MB L3 Cache 125W Retail Box Processor £148 thats the best i can tell you.
