How did this thread evolve from talking about mamario's site, to talking about Wii scams and scam sites?

WTF..
lol...since when is it a crime to make a little money on the side for paying a website you build up with a lot of effort? It's just some frickin' advertising and most of it is not from Mamario's site but from Mediafire. You get something from free for being annoyed by a bit of ads...you are not forced to use his services, you know?
Mamario isn't a scammer, he has actually done a lot of good for dolphin & compiles good builds. That other site was just the other extreme that can happen when selling something you didn't create (I don't know if it's a crime to sell homebrew channel/usb loaders that are free downloads, but it's at least suspicious).

Since mamario isn't selling anything (everything on the site is free) I guess it's ok to earn something in return from advertisements.

About ½ years ago I saw sites that were selling dolphin. Now it's hard to find them as people learn it's completely free to use. This site http://www.nintendowiiemulators.com/ was selling a guide for $19.99 on how to play wii games on PC (essentially just a short pdf explaining how to set up dolphin) but it's changed, and now the site doesn't even say dolphin exists
Exactly, I provide builds and I have ads on my site, just to pay for the server costs and cost of renewals for my board software + addons, nothing wrong with that. Although I'd have to admit that the ads at mamario's site is a bit excessive, I get a pop under ad whenever I click the link to his forum and ads clutter other areas of his site and take away from the content. I don't use adblock because I like to help support some sites, and by not blocking ads it nets more impressions for those I want to support, blocking ads also causes me to have issues with certain sites or services.
wear a cloth of weather in senior website? Dude, you are a poet!
I can official say we don't care if fan sites have ad's. What right do we have to say they can't or shouldn't. As long as they are not misleading and scamming people, I think were all okay with it.

I lol'd
We really don't need duplicate threads, if you wish to rage on mamario, spam his site.. don't spam here.
Form a quick search next time, pal! http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/thread-7883.html
Well, the original poster just wanted to know if this was the official one. It's official for me, that's for sure.

Well to you it may, but it isn't an official site and is just considered an unofficial fan site that provides frequently updated builds through a build bot. Setting up a build bot, wiki, forum and sourcing the information from elsewhere doesn't make it official, it would be like claiming my site was official site/forum for Dolphin and other emulators.

I don't agree with all the hate towards the guy though, as long as he doesn't misrepresent his site as the official site and the Dolphin team is fine with his site, then should everyone else.
