I just found super Mario Galaxy for the pc VIA the dolphin emulator!!
Well my son is sooo happy that I found this game. But I can`t get it to with my wireless xbox 360 gamepad!
I got the game to start but it freezes a few seconds in saying plug-in a Wii remote.
So can someone please give me a simple run down on how to configure the settings so my son can use the Gamepad. I see the configure gamecube gamepad button. But nothing else. Please can someone help a father out so his son can play this game. I just don`t have all the time to try and figure this out as I am currently in school for ym third year electrical apprenticship. So I have hardly any spare time.
Cheers to all who can help
It is telling you to connect a nunchuk.
Open the wiimote config dialog, set extension to nunchuk, set up 360 pad buttons/axes.

Thanx for the tip. That setting got the game to not freeze at the plug in wii mote screen. So I was able to press the A and b buttons to get to the next screen. Now at the `point you pointer ant the blue circles on the screen I have to use my mouse to move the pointer on the screen. Now I am having great difficulty configuring my left analog stick the right too. please can someone give me a few pointers on getting my sticks to work properly. Under the Tilt and swing section top right side. What should i be putting in those boxes. There is a box for the wiimote and for nunchuck. I have them at analog 1 for Wiimote and analog 2 for nunchuck.
I did go into the wiimote settings. And under the section of analog sticks there is those four box depicting the motion of your sticks. Mine seem to mimicking my motion on each stick. So why are they not moving the on screen pointer or mario. I hope I am being clear on what my issue is. My son is going crazy as he really wants to play this game. And my wife is pushing harder for me to find games with less violence in them. So that is also why this is soo important to me and my family. i did manage to get into the game, I got the first level started but mario can`t move around. He can only jump or shoot stars at the stuff on the screen. I am unable to get mario to move one bit.
Cheers

Sorry 4 my english Sad
You don't need xpadder. :/
bushwickbill, if you are having difficulty configuring your gamepad, you should give the new wiimote plugin a try.
It should be much easier to configure.
You can get recent svn builds from http://www.dolphin-emu.org/download.html which include the new plugin.
Extract this file to: \User\Config\Profiles\Wiimote

EDIT: Ooh, I see that you use a wireless xbox 360 controller... Well... you need a receiver for the computer to find the controller. I don't know where to find them, don't even know the name of it, but maybe some people here know... You can't get it to work with Bluetooth btw, they use infrared or something (I really don't know, but you need a receiver, I know that for sure :p).
yeah i remember too u can buy it from here
http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Wireless-Gaming-Receiver-Windows-Pc/dp/B000HZFCT2
Its 32 dollar lol
I also need that one :p
Hope they can send stuff worldwide :/.

Ooh 27 euros ^_^!! (It's expensive tho...)

Thanx for tips. But first off. i do already have the microsoft Wireless adapter. I use it to play many games as it is. This is just the first time using a emulator. Great app BTW!!
So now that is out of the way. I grabbed the latest build from the link you provided. I am not sure what is different, But I can now control mario with my left stick, The rumble is working!! i can jum p and do the right things, i think. But I can't seem to control the camera? And whats with the other settings in the wiimote configure app? Do i need to enable the pitch and roll stuff? I am sure I could configure this gamepad better. Any other tips guys. And thanx soo much. My son was jumping around the room when he saw he could move mario around! He is only five!! i feel for him. He just wants to be able to play mario like his friends?
Cheers

Xpadder significantly helps configuration for newbies though. It can for example set correct axis calibration instantly for 360 controller (like 'use 8-way control for movement stick') without any tweaking at all.

But for ordinary users it's better to use the dolphin inbuilt system.
