It certainly isn't, well, my pc might be a bad example though. Small Update, OpenGL is like 10x more stable then DX9 with this game, dual core and all, DX looks a lot more crispy, but honestly you can CRANK everything to max in OpenGL and achieve the same effect with less hassle to worry about, the first couple scenes have filters and shit so they don't run very fast for NTSC (bout 40 frames at max for me), but then when you start in the mansion everything runs at a crispy 60 clicks without any trouble.
Course I am using a OC'd i7 920, so again might be a bad example... Its pretty much dark out and I find myself getting spooked already lmao. My GF has leapt from the couch a couple times from this game. I can't thank ye enough for the work everyone who's been aiming to play this forever now.
I'll try some other games I have kicking around, maybe ill find another game which uses these FIFO mods.
I'm having the same problem jinnai3k, but iv'e tried both settings that skid and Xtreme2damax recommends but the beginning still keeps looping. There also doesn't seem to be a single core setting that I can find.
Single core is turning off the "Enable Dual Core (speedup)" dolphin option and the other one labelled "Enable Dual Core" game properties option.
Oh, then yes iv'e unchecked both those settings and tried your method skid but I still can't get past the first screen.
Try using Xtreme's settings from post
16.
Iv'e tried those settings too, but I still can't get passed the Edgar Allen Poe loop, do you know what causes this?
Are you sure your image is good, perhaps as already mentioned the Pal version doesn't work just yet..
Well I had my first freeze, it froze when reading that golden colored book in the room towards the beginning of the games. The video output for ED froze on the cutscene, but the audio continued to play. Going to test on single core mode and see if it still freezes at that spot or not.

Yeah I should probably update here as well, OpenGL is
not being as stable as I thought, I am encountering
quite a few game-freezing events such as the long hallway with Maximus or whatever his name is -- the one with the dead bodies, the game will freeze there every time after the cutscene which shows the cube. I don't know if I can get past it by saving state and switching to DX9 for it... Maybe, will try tonight perhaps.
Oh, and no matter what I use for settings the frame rate (and this is NTSC)
will bottom out at 40fps in certain places everytime, cinematics, it seems to be whenever there is another model (enemie, player) present... I do not know if
this is something idle skipping would fix or not.
But
at least I am getting in-game, and honestly the improved graphics render everything so sharply that I find myself getting
FREAKED OUT in the mansion alone, way worse then it used to. I love this game so much.
Quick Skid question: Does Rouge Leader have the same FIFO issue? I have tried numerous times on many different builds to no avail. Rouge Leader III DEMO works-ish, only when you try to boot up LR III it will crash, but the menu works,
fun fact if anyone has it lying around.
Would it be possible for you to send me a save state or a save game near the part where the game is freezing every time? Is it easy to get to in the PAL version of the game?
The 40fps may be an unrelated Dolphin slowdown. I'll try to optimise the patch a bit later on.
It looks like Rogue Leader is suffering from a JIT or MMU/TLB hack issue. I took a closer look at the TLB hack yesterday and did not find any bugs with the code. I will keep looking.
