Ok, verified the games don't hang in single core mode, but they are about as slow as slow as running them in interpreter mode.
Tested or tried testing:
- Resident Evil Remake, Zero, 4, Code Veronica X
- Zelda Windwaker, Twilight Princess
- Mario Galaxy, Mario Galaxy 2, Mario Sunshine
- Eternal Darkness
I'm guessing that it's the changes to GPFifo.cpp that are causing all games to hang with this patch, with the latest revision all games hang no matter if single core mode is used.
Xtreme2damax, yeh, there are no GPU speed hacks in the WIP patch so the games will be slow. I am concentrating on compatibility at this stage and will speed it up further later.
A list of games that are broken by the patch will allow me to focus on fixing those games and hopefully raise compatibility across the board.
Thanks for testing, Xtreme2damax. Keep us posted if you find anything else. You can play with the parameters, you know

Yeah NTSC Eternal Darkness isn't letting me through to the main menu, I've tried a million possible combinations now, it simply loops on the title screen, or if your using interpreter sometimes you'll be asked if you want to display in progressive mode, or other times maybe you'll get to the menu but I was not able to SaveState at that point for some reason so yeah. Stumped. (your x64 build, tried using single core, duel core, OpenGL, and DX9, to the same result )
I have the two versions here now on disk, my buddies ED is PAL and mine is NTSC, PAL lets you do the SaveState trick to get in-game, however in my case I cannot watch ANY cinematics without having the game freeze, also the SOUND = HORRID, its all garbled, you can tell underneath the static the actual music is playing (Oh, by the way I should mention this is with LLE as HLE does NOT work on PAL. v5638) but no setting seems to get around the garble, sounds a lot like the old resident evil 0 problem, to which there is no option for in v5638 from what I can see.
The PAL version is BEAUTIFUL however once youre in-game, AMAZING, but yeah all the cine-triggers seem to be effed, obviously there is that menu problem (I have tried with the bloom hack and without and I cant figure out what it is actually doing of benefit to ED? Without it the menus work... But everyone is saying use it, why?)
Other then that we are giving up for tonight I think, I've easily killed 3+ hours on settings for this game and I don't seem to be going anywhere... I still feel like I am forgetting something obvious but. Yeah. No leads to work on anymore.
So yeah I am not experiencing any benefit to this FIFO patch it seems, sorry Skid I really gave it a solid effort today.
jinnai3k, turn the ZTP Bloom hack on as that will allow you to see the menus. At the Edgar Allan Poe quote, hammer the A button (do not press the B button, but if you do accidentally, close Dolphin and start again) until the blue Nintendo logo appears. After that wait, because the Silicon Knights and Dolby logos show followed by a movie which initially starts out pointing to the dark night sky. When the blue scroll pans across the screen, hammer the A button again. Wait a while and the menu will show (if the ZTP Bloom projection hack has been selected). From there, play the game like normal.
In the DX9 video options turn on CPU-EFB access and EFB to RAM. Turn all other options off.

NTSC (w those settings): Hangs at 'Deep into the darkness blah blah', displays "would you like to display in Progressive scan?" but you can't select anything as game is FROZEN and LOOPING at 'deep' v64-FIFO (your dump)
PAL (w those settings): Hangs at 'Deep into the darkness bleh bloo', sound is GARBLED and sounds like it is also LOOPING... Also the fact that the text is frozen on the screen tells me that it is also FROZEN.
--Both games display the beginning text 'Deep into the yeah yeah' IMMEDIATELY, as in, there is no fade-in to the text as there should be. That is all the description I can really give on that. Again those effects are with YOUR SETTINGS only and not me tinkering around.
.......I am actually seeing some irony in the Deep into the Darkness text, because long I sit here, wondering, fearing, (maybe) doubting (at least my scenario, heh heh.) Best of luck man hope that helped a little.
Eternal Darkness works great for me, perhaps your disc image might be bad? I've tested ED with the following settings and no problems so far.

Holy balls on earth Xtreme, I followed your settings EXACTLY, and sure enough, I too am in game sound working and no troubles..... Which begs the question of what the hell did I do that caused all that noise to happen, it hardly occurs now (save for maybe what everyone else is going through), PAL works with these settings.
OMG I can actually play this in HD now, it looks... sooo... pretty. I think I might cry. My girlfriend is laughing at me.
Just to follow up:
NTSC: Still loops, although runs normally asks if you want to go progressive or not, doesn't matter what you choose you'll never pass the first 'deep' quote.
PAL: Having problems with main menu-transitions, when you start a new game sometimes it will freeze, try moving in and out of the menus and see if it happens to you.
Single Core mode is more stable. Make sure it says "SC" on the bottom left corner.
Perhaps it's specific to the Pal version only, my NTSC-U version is working fine. I will try to play the game some more and report back in a bit, seems to run great so far.
Eternal Darkness is the only game that is running at full speed constantly with the new fifo code, why is this? oO
It does not seem like Eternal Darkness is a taxing game graphically.
