Q3: What do we need DX11 for anyway?
A: There's numerous things to mention here: The new plugin is (in my opinion) a lot cleaner now because of the cleaner API itself as well as because of being rewritten. Apart from that, DX11 provides support for specifying the maximum LOD of a texture and for some vertex element formats (both of these things are unsupported in DX9).

Meaning one can sacrifice graphic detail for performance? !!
Hmpf, I know now why my blue left upper corner box has suddenly disappeared: Because I started to play with Fog disabled...ergo the fog emulation causes the blue box...IS THAT ALREADY KNOWN?? Cuz I've never read it anywhere...

EDIT: This applies to DX9 plugin at least...can't tell for DX11 cuz I got those big-time gfx issues in MKWii...
so Fog causes the blue box????????????????????

Well, games might want do this, since "they" know best when the graphic detail loss is little enough to use smaller max LOD.
Ofc, we could add an option to automatically force lower levels of detail, but we've way to many options right now anyway..

In Zelda Twilight Princess (Game Cube) the intro logo appears behind Link and a few other 3d objects as it plays, In DX9 the logo is in front of everything.

Nope, disabling fog just makes the blue box way less visible, but it's still there.
oh ok, thanks.
