Dolphin, the GameCube and Wii emulator - Forums

I clicked the Force Texture Filtering button and I'm still getting the graphics issue. It only happens at night.

Dell Dimension 9100
Intel Pentium 4
XP Pro

I've been downloading several versions of Dolphin from this & other related threads in the hopes of playing this game. Now it seems the text issue is partially resolved, (in-game night time is still very slow and the graphics are poor quality/choppy), but almost every time I try to milk the cow or dig with the archaeologists, the game crashes. One needs to milk the cow & dig with the archaeologists, as it is a necessary part of the game-play. If a fix for the crashing issue comes along , please post a link to this thread for me and all the other Harvest Moon lovers. It would mean a lot to all of us, I'm sure. TIA.

It was better to just buy a used Gamecube & game than to believe in this :/

If someone has a PC that can't handle emulation like you do, then yes.

As if I were the only one who had a hard time running this game...

It's not that I'm unhappy that someone's trying to put this out there for people, it's great. On the other hand, I guess I'm one of those people who like to see things through to the end, and I hope others will take this and projects like it and make them really, really work. No need to be defensive, just fix it... if people care about this project, they'll finish it in time. It looks like it will be a very, very long time at this rate, but I think this sort of thing truly will eventually be revolutionary in the game world.

What gave you that idea? If you're not able to emulate a game, you play it on the real console. People like you have to do that since your PC is very weak.

No thanks. Even so, fixing the game is still not going to allow a P4 to play it fast enough.

Lies. You can't play any games at full speed with a P4. Who are you trying to kid, yourself?

Oo, you're so nasty. It's true that many other games run fine with my pc on Dolphin, otherwise I wouldn't bother with any of this. There is absolutely no reason to be so rude, plus you're wrong to boot... :p

First question is addressed to anyone but you, (since I already bought my gamecube, for the benefit of other Dolphin users who want to play Harvest Moon), as you're not helpful at all.

Your computer doesn't have a dual-core processor or a recent graphics card, which are probably the most critical components to playable game speed in a majority of titles.

And to clarify, the nature of emulation is not such that the emulator itself gets faster as it develops, but that it gets slower as it emulates the hardware more closely. The most accurate emulators available for other systems require pretty hefty machines--speed is borne of concessions to accuracy that increase the risk of errors and glitches. If anything, an improvement to program stability would only make the issue of having inadequate hardware worse.

Buying a Gamecube is a much more affordable solution than building a Dolphin-capable computer and waiting for the bugs to be ironed out completely. I hope that helps clear things up.

Has anyone else had an issue with the Nami Heart events? When I do the first one she just starts spinning and doesn't stop...
