Zelda Windwaker is not running full speed

Hi, I am trying to play Zelda Windwaker, but it slows down and speeds back up again. It runs on full speed, then it slows (so does the music) and speeds up again. This particular game is not really playable like this. I've also had the same problem playing soulcalibur 2 for gamecube.

I get the feeling my computer is just not strong enough, but on the off chance that it's only a Dolphin setting, can someone help? Is there anything I can do, other than buying a new computer?

My PC Specs: Intel Core i3-2370M (2.4 GHz) 64bit, 6GB Ram, Intel HD Graphics family, And I'm running Dolphin 3.5 (Or I also have version 4.0, but it seemed worse at first)

Thank you for your help

1- Of course it should. That is a medium-to-low quality CPU.

2- Not enough power (CPU clock is too low for the game).

3- Intel HD Graphics (which one: 1xxx series, 2xxx series, 3xxx series...?)

4- (You got confused with Intel Express Chipset Family, the last generation of IGP before HD Graphics series).

5- Intel GPUs tend to work slower than the others.
Rig 1: Windows 10 Home | AMD A6-1450 @ 600/1000/1400 MHz | AMD Radeon HD Graphics 8250 | 4GB RAM | HP Pavilion TouchSmart 11.

Rig 2: Windows 10 Pro | Intel Core i7-2640M @ 780/2800/3500 MHz | Intel HD 3000 Mobile | 8GB RAM | Dell Latitude 6320.

You can try using "DSP HLE Emulation" by right-clicking on the game in the Dolphin game list, then go to properties and put a check mark near that option. Some people say that using HLE will cause the game to hang up at certain points, but I have not experienced this myself. Either way, if you run into issues, remove the check near that option and continue on.

@DJBarry004

His cpu and gpu are both more than adequate for this game with the right settings. WW is very lightweight.

The 1xxx series is just referred to as "Intel HD" by Intel. With no model number. So he listed it correctly.

Thank you this helps a lot! It's still slowing again, but not nearly as much and it's completely playable now. If there's anything else I can do I'm open to suggestions though. could I maybe sacrifice some graphics quality to make it easier? Is that possible and would that affect anything?

I don't know much about emulators, so I'm kinda grasping at straws here. Anyway, thanks for the help Smile
