Hey guys! First of all, the specs:

Intel Core i7-2670QM

NVIDIA GeForce GT540M 2GB

Windows 7 Home Premium 64bits
8GB DDR3 RAM

Whenever I try to run Zelda: Wind Waker, I get max fps at the menus and ~15fps in game. In EVERY config, EVERY version of Dolphin.

I tried with Dolphin 3.0, Dolphin 3.5, Dolphin 3.5-367 (last release) but works just the same.

I even put it at the lowest config possible (320x200 in fullscreen resolution and 1x in Internal Resolution) with everything disabled aaaand... The same thing. ~15fps in game and max speed at menus.

For the record, I can play other games just fine but I have a problem just with this game.

Another minor thing that MAY cause the problem is that I'm running it on a x86 Dolphin version (x64 gives me 0xc000007b, and I already reinstalled all Visual C++ yadda yadda yadda).

I didn't show any config cause it is clearly not the problem, since it runs the SAME way in any way I try.

Thanks guys! And sorry for the bad english

You have a decent laptop but you have to optimize your laptop before running Dolphin
_High CPU clock speed is a must (Dolphin is a dual core application)
_Nvidia GPU must be used , not the integrated Intel HD 3000
You can read this thread for more info

Install both Visual C++ x86 and x64

Also, 3.5-367 isn't the latest version (and I'm fucking sick of seeing that build number, goddamn it) – you got Dolphin from the wrong site. Here's the right site: http://dolphin-emu.org/download/ (Make sure to scroll down to the dev builds.)

Oh yeah I forgot to mention this. I am running it at the Nvidia GPU (changed it at Nvidia Control Panel). So it isn't the problem

And about Visual C++ x86/x64, I already installed a whole bunch of them and didn't helped with the error at all Sad. I installed Visual C++ 2008 x86 and x64, Visual C++ 2010 x86 and x64, and the SP1 for each one. I guess it is some corrupted files that are in my way

And I really was using the wrong dev version. And now that I got 3.5-1318 it runs noticeably better. ~24fps with some slowdowns. I'm going to change some configs to see if it can run any better. Thanks guys

What's your CPU clock speed when dolphin is running ?
If you've already read the thread above , you should know how to control Turbo Boost manually
A 2.2GHz CPU is too slow , change your multiplier to 28 or 29 , you will have 2.8 or 2.9GHz

I did some tweaks and now it is running at full speed in 1080p with 2x in IR. I'm going to take a look at controlling the Turbo Boost to run a little better. Maybe improving the IR... I usually turn off Turbo Boost to not heat up too much my notebook. But I'm surely going to take a look at it. Really really thanks Smile

I changed the multiplier to 28 and it ran wonderfully. With 3x IR... But I am not going to play with that. The temperature got up do 94ºC Sad. I got scared and turned it off.

But thanks anyway! Now it is playable Smile

720p , 1080p does not matter in Dolphin . Dolphin switched display res to internal resolution long time ago
If you look at the Zelda WW benchmark thread - post #7 , my laptop can run Zelda full speed even with 3xIR . Your CPU should do better as long as your CPU is running at 2.9GHz

Quote:I usually turn off Turbo Boost to not heat up too much my notebook
Without Turbo Boost , your CPU won't run Zelda WW full speed
Perhaps , you should use the pre-configed Dolphin 3.0 in that benchmark thread ("EFB copies to texture" enabled via ini file)
If you still want to use latest Dolphin , you will have to change ini settings :

I tried to run ThrottleStop again and it didn't work. I mean... Look at the image

Even though it is running, it still at "8x" multiplier on top.

And when I try to run dolphin again what happens??? ~15fps AGAIN! Oh god

EDIT: I did the .ini thing that you mentioned. Maybe that's what made the fps drop again?

Dude , you did it wrong .
Quote:_Install Intel Turbo Boost Technology Monitor 2.5
_Set Multiplier 29, you will have 29 x 99.78MHz = 2893.62MHz ~ 2.9GHz
_Click "Save" , close throttlestop and then re-run throttlestop . Keep it running when you're using Dolphin
Throtlestop(TS) need to be restarted 1 time before using and it only work if there is application on the background (run that application first then run TS)
