You should be able to reach 3.5-3.9 GHz if you know what you're doing

Wikipedia has an article that explains what O.C. is.
Trust us, overclocking is one of the easiest-if-careful things you can do with a PC. Rig 1: Windows 10 Home | AMD A6-1450 @ 600/1000/1400 MHz | AMD Radeon HD Graphics 8250 | 4GB RAM | HP Pavilion TouchSmart 11.
Rig 2: Windows 10 Pro | Intel Core i7-2640M @ 780/2800/3500 MHz | Intel HD 3000 Mobile | 8GB RAM | Dell Latitude 6320.
I just did a stress test and 1 of the cores went over 80(temperture), the auto fuction is on in my Bios and its running 3.2 ghz atm.
The strange part is my Voltage sometimes shoots up over 1.200 V for a split second and falls back down again, i've read that over 1.200 V is kinda bad. So have no idea whatsup with that? I'm not sure if your temperture goes down when you lower the voltage? havent read anything about it for far And ofcourse if it could handle less voltage without crashing. 2 attachments below: - one 0.9V screenshot - one 1.2V screenshot 10-27-2013, 09:24 AM
1.256 is totally fine for Bloomfield cpus. I used to run mine on 1.4V for a year and it's still working to this day. (At 1.256V but whateva)
Don't use the auto option on your board though. Manually set CPU voltage to 1.256V and see how it's going to work. Also, to cool overclocked bloomfield cpu's you need a mighty cpu cooler like the NH-D14 (I'm actually only recommending this because I'm from Austria). |
