Hi,
first of all, I have to say the Dolphin emulator is great Smile
Every of my old GC games does look soo smooth!
Now about my problem...
At the moment, I'm playing "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess" on my Ideapad Y500.
The specs are:

Intel Core i7-3630QM 2.4Ghz
16GB RAM
nVidia geforce GT 650M SLI
Windows 7 Professional x64

Dolphin-win-x64-v3.5-367

It doesn't matter, what configuration I use. D3D11, 4x IR with 8x AA or D3D9 1xIR no AA, the game is ALWAYS running between 20 and 30FPS. FPS slowdowns to 19FPS are not rare... I don't know why the peformance is that bad. The CPU load is always below 30%.

V-Sync is on
IR=4x Native
AA=8x (quality level 32)
anisotropic=16x
scaled EFB Copy is on
EFB Copies to RAM (Cache enabled)
texture cache, accuracy: safe

OpenMP is disabled, because it doesn't change anything.
Any advice for me?

Try the latest version of dolphin and lower your IR and disable AA.

And since you have an nvidia gpu, try OpenGL with the vertex streaming hack.

You still won't reach full speed, though, but things might get playable.. enough.

It's running better with OpenGL. But like I mentioned before, it doesn't matter if AA is enabled or not. And also It's not better playable when lower the IR.
Maybe you've got me wrong. The game is running good, but in some certain areas, especially the hyrule field, it's running slower than normal.
With OpenGL 2xIR and 16xQ CSAA it's running almost perfect. Almost everywhere with 30FPS, hyrule field 22FPS.
What do you mean by vertex streaming hack?

In the last graphics tab, it's an option in the 3.5-2XXX builds. Speeds up OpenGL.

Also, anti-aliasing drops aren't always as apparent. For example in a game I have full speed in most areas with AA, but when effects/fog come suddenly it drops,
without the anti-aliasing the drop doesn't occur or is less drastic. But if you have the same FPS in hyrule field with or without AA, I guess it really doesn't matter.

RachelB *is* right, 99% of performance issues are due to not having a fast enough CPU. An i7-3630QM isn't ideal for Dolphin, but an overclocked i5-3570K or a stock/overclocked i5-4670K will do much better.

Hyrule Field is known to be extremely demanding. Performance drops there indicate lack of CPU power. You noted that your CPU load never goes over 30%. This might indicate that some CPU throttling is taking place. Take a look at this:

http://isboxer.com/wiki/HOWTO:Disable_CPU_Throttling_in_Windows

Make sure you have it plugged in and only change the profile for when it is on AC power.

If you are going to overclock, you will also have to raise the fan´s speed so you don´t get high temps.

Other thing: Why are you using V-Sync? If emulation is not 100%, it´s no use to enable it (make things go worse).

If you want to use the latest and greatest software, you need to have the latest and greatest hardware. Don't like it? Too bad. That's how the world works.
