I disagree with what Zeek M said about reducing texture size for video cards, the project name is called "4k Realistic Texture Overhaul" of course the texture will be big and you'll need a lot of RAM. I'm able to run the game without issues with this pack. Maybe if you want texture's that aren't 4k and don't take lots of RAM search for others? No offense at all but there are at least 3 other big texture packs out there that don't take up lots of RAM and are also big in terms of areas covered. Also why would anyone with, what I assume you are using is medium PC specs use a texture pack labeled with 4k, you should know that the pack will be demanding lots of resources and need good hardware. I will use Skyrim modding for an example, if I had a medium PC I wouldn't be installing mods that replace models seen often with higher poly models and I wouldn't be using 4k textures on textures seen often because it's just obvious that it wouldn't give a smooth experience on a medium spec PC. Also adding mip-mapping will even further increase memory used making the suggestion to make the textures less big kind of irrelevant because then if it isn't for the textures being too big, then it will be the mip-mapping taking up much of the memory. When I added mip-mapping to a texture pack that I used, the total memory of the mip-mapped files and some normal maps ended up being 3.8GBs, so on top of this and the original pack textures will just lead to more memory being used. Leave this project to how it is so it's distinctive and not the same thing as other packs, that's one of the most unique parts of this pack, that the textures are big, high quality, and realistic. If this pack didn't have big textures that would be taking one of the original core features of this pack away.
Another thing I would like to point out is that if the textures are too big, you can always reduce the size of the textures yourself which isn't that hard.
