Why is it that all the HD texture projects for Zelda Twilight Princess are for the GC version of the game, and non for the Wii?
Do people hate the Wii version that much?

I played the Wii version and did not find any issues with it other than the annoying waggle sword action.
I like that it's widescreen and seems to have fewer issues in Dolphin than the GC version.

If my memory serves correctly, those textures should work with the Wii version. Just change the ID of the folder. Have you tried that? Huh

Thanks for the suggestion.

I've not tried that but it likely won't work due to the elements that were edited to account for the screen mirroring to make Link right-handed.
I'll still try.

The main reason is because the gc version is more user friendly and versitile. With the wii version your going to need a wiimote, nunchuck, sensor bar, and blutooth adapter. It is true you can map most of what you need to play, but at that point, why not just play the gc version? Get what I mean?

There is ONE i know that comes in wii format off the bat. Look up insane slugs tp texture pack.

Yes, GC version is more user friendly, only need to emulate a GameCube controller. One of the only assets of the Wii version was the 16:9 mode, that now can be enabled on GC version with few minor graphic glitches thanks to AR codes.
From France with love.

I was hoping to custom configure controls for the Wii version to use my X360 gamepad.  I found Insane Slug's blog but there are not links to download the pack.  I'll post if I find one.

The gamecube version is getting more attention because of pirates: "Twilight Princess has sold 6.51 million units on the Wii and 1.59 million units on the GameCube". So over 80% of people who own the game, either own the Wii version or both and the required wiimote + nunchuck, and less than 20% own only the gamecube version. From these numbers, the interest in the Wii version should be 4 times higher than the gamecube version, but here it's more like the other way around, ... strange ...

I find the wii version superior. Texture packs work fine cross generation since they are generated by texture HASH. Just rename the folder. However, newer dolphin has the texture hash naming different. You will need to convert the texture pack names to fix this, theres an ini option to do this somewhere... I dont recall where. Or someone can just upload a converted set. I have converted the insane slug one if you really need me to upload it in this format for you, please message me, I check here infrequently.
