A sensor bar is recommended for Skyward Sword, otherwise the sword calibration will be significantly worse. I haven't really played this game, so I'm not sure if you can get past the screen you currently are stuck on without a sensor bar. If you really want to, I guess you could get past it by just pointing at a lamp, but I don't know what your calibration will be like then.

Bluetooth and sensor bars are entirely separate. (In case you've heard of the DolphinBar, please note that it's essentially a Bluetooth device built into a sensor bar. Normal sensor bars aren't like that.)
