Hi,

I am about to try out the Dolphin for Android but before I do I wanted to ask if there is much point in trying.
I got a Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 which has a Snapdragon 650 CPU, Adreno 510 GPU and 3GB of ram.

Would that be able to run Game Cube games like Zelda Wind Waker and Metriod Prime? How about Wii games like Zelda Skyward Sword?

Thanks,

Wind Waker might be close to playable. If it's "fine" depends on your requirements Wink

The other ones only run up to half of the speed of Wind Waker....

I might give it a go but I really only want to try if it will actually work. Do you think I'll have much luck?

Edit
I saw a youtuber saying he gets 2 FPS on basically the same phone. So I guess it probably won't.

A72 @ 1.8 GHz? With the OpenGL ES 3.2 driver (likely), you should get about 25 fps in Wind Waker. Feel free to underclock the emulated CPU to get it "fullspeed", but it is quite likely to break the game in very random ways. But I guess your CPU will throttle within a few minutes to fit the thermal requirements, maybe down to 10 fps...

2 FPS however in Wind Waker sounds *very* wrong. I get this on my A53 in interpreter mode....

It is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 Hexa-Core CPU @ 1.8GHz which I assume A72? And the GPU is a Adreno 510.

25 FPS doesn't sound that bad but only for a few minutes isn't so great.

I gave it a try but I could barely get it to work. Game loaded to game screen and then exited. Messed around with the settings and got it pass that to the cut screen explaining the story and once it got to the game actually starting it just kept exiting. A bit disappointing. I suppose I will give it a year and see how it is then.

This sounds strange. How outdated are your GPU driver? Do they expose OpenGL ES 3.2?

Snapdragon 650 doesn't expose ES3.2 under 6.0. OP could use one of the many custom roms based on nougat CAF code and get the updated drivers but that's up to them.

Xiaomi is currently working on dev roms for their next custom rom miui 9 based on nougat, im using it currently with my redmi Note 4x, tried the Vulkan backend and Twilight Princess ran at 20 fps in his intro (with huge fps drops in some areas), but... Thats when it run, most of the time the game stalls and trow me back at the menu, over and over, dont matter what version of dolphin im using, so still it might be my phone after all

Someone knows a workaround, if you need more info i can provide it
