Sweet, seems like I got into this just in time. You say there's still a lot of work to be done but it sounds like mostly everything has been retextured? Is there work left in perfecting the textures and making translations or am I wildly off the mark?

Feel free to ignore my question if it's annoying.

Ohh no. Feel free to ask questions. I don't mind.

The whole game is basically already 99% re-textured. The remaining 1% are textures which are impossible. And... yeah... Languages other than English are incomplete. However thanks to CyberConan Majora's Mask might soon have a complete Spanish translation. Der Siebte Schatten mentioned he wanted to work on a French translation and Khann_27 mentioned a while ago wanting to make a Italian mod. We are basically just missing German.

Back to the topic again. Both Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask are fully re-textured. However, Majora's Mask is receiving a complete overhaul suitable for 4K and textures devoted to the original art style. THis overhaul is made possible thanks to Nerrel who makes this 4K Majora's Mask texture pack for the Nintendo 64 version for Project64. I am just porting his work over. The textures of Majora's Mask which are going to be replaced were mostly made by bluedart.

Currently Nerrel's overhaul is at the second area of the game: Snowhead. Snowhead Temple will be next to overhaul. You can definitely count on that each new update increases the overall size of the texture pack. Snowhead Temple should mark the halfway point of the game. Besides Snowhead are Clock Town, Termina Field, Southern Swamp and Woodfall Temple completed. Romani Ranch is partly finished. The HUD should also be mostly be replaced.

Anyway, you are welcome to try out the texture pack. More power to the N64 Zelda games.

If it is just Ocarina of Time you are looking for, that one is already completed for a while and shouldn't receive as many changes anymore. But since both games have shared textures, Ocarina might see some improvements over time as well.

Hi Admentus!
Past week, I was problems with performance of GameCube Majora's version but I got the VC version (NARP01 code) and works almost perfect Smile
This is a very preliminary zip version:
Z-MM-Spanis-PNG-v0.10.zip
I'm trying follow your folder structure and in Language/Letters & Symbols/ are my proposed characters with accents.
When I'll be in near middle of the game, I'll upload new package.

Nicely done. I take a look at it tomorrow. I should be able to incorporate it into the core pack, official supported language and such.

@CyberConan

I found a few textures that are having issues.

tex1_128x40_d3657a07ee6e0d64_2 - Upscaled non-HD texture
tex1_32x16_70e67470c6c5084f_2 - Black thick line under "y" letter. Texture space seems not to be utilizing it's scale (scale size is correctly through).
tex1_48x24_43412f5ffc7c62c9_0 - Seems to be a severely upscaled non-HD texture
tex1_48x28_ca13cd905dc90af2_2 - Duplicate texture
tex1_48x24_a0dbbf69e786c9ad_0 - Was part of the HUD/Time folder (which does not exist in the core pack). Where does this texture belong?

There is no need to include the Logo textures. They already exist in a higher resolution.

Don't forget to exclude the .directory files. Probably being part of the Mac operating system.

For the rest, it all looks fine to be included in the next update. Great work, and thank you for helping out with the N64 Zelda HD project.

Keep in mind that the following categories should be separated from each other: mod textures (Spanish Ocarina textures which replace English), official textures (Spanish Majora textures which do not exist yet) and replacements (for example fonts that are being replaced due being a better alternative).

I will be adding a few new folders in the Hud, File & Intro Menu and Language folder, where you textures for Majora will be placed in subfolders with the name Spanish. Just for being able to separate the English from the Spanish textures. The File & Intro Menu textures for example will be placed into PZL/Intro & File Menu/Text/Majora/Spanish. English textures will get sorted into their own English subfolders. The PAL folders will get removed/merged (through PAL English textures will still be separated from NTSC-U English textures for quicker sorting).

I figured, to help you out with the sorting, I will be uploading a new update named V2.5b which will include your Spanish textures and font replacements. So you should be able to notice the new folder structure. The Spanish Ocarina mod will also be included. And of course it gives you an opportunity to check if nothing is missing. It will be an all-in-one update as usual.

Anyway...

The rest of the mirrors are following later. Since this is part of V2.5, V2.4 will still be available. Instead V2.5 gets replaced with V2.5b.

Changelog:
Code:
- Added 3 missing textures in the DDS BC7 pack which were added for V2.5 (2 disc menu textures and a cape texture for Ganondorf).
- Added Spanish mod for Ocarina of Time.
- Added Spanish textures for Majora's Mask. Still incomplete.
- Replaced some font textures, mostly related to Spanish.
- Folder restructuring to organize language-related textures.
* Thanks to CyberConan for all the Spanish textures.

@Admentus!

In first place, thanks for trust in the 0.10 version but like I said, was a very preliminary version Sleepy  I'll try answer about your warnings:
tex1_128x40_d3657a07ee6e0d64_2 and tex1_48x24_43412f5ffc7c62c9_0 - Yes! I'm not redrawed this textures yet.
tex1_32x16_70e67470c6c5084f_2 - The original texture than I extract have the same black line, I don't know why Nintendo did but I drew the same line.
tex1_48x28_ca13cd905dc90af2_2 - Duplicate texture, yes, because "Final" is same word in english and in spanish Wink . I'll change the CRC in next version for what don't appear as duplicate.
tex1_48x24_a0dbbf69e786c9ad_0 - The good folder in your structure is Language/Days/ but some textures in HUD/Time/ must be in HUD/Clock. I'll reorganize this folder.

About logo texture, I saw than these textures are in 3724x207, I resized to 1154x64 because I was debuging. I thing than textures than are not divisible by eight not load well in dolphin for linux.

And about .directory files, yes, are hidden temporal files but for Linux Big Grin

Well, I'm going to download 2.5b version, restructure my repo folder and play and play for capture new textures for redraw. I'll try clean more the next version before upload but this will be when I'm about 50% of the game.

Regards!!

Ha, thanks for your support. Of course I understood it was a preliminary version. I just like to hand out feedback regardless, ya know. Nothing but the best for gaming. And because it gives you an opportunity to notice if what you currently are doing is on the right track. I really appreciate the work you put into it and that you still are motivated to continue. We need more folks like you!

My feedback is really minor compared to the outstanding work so far. I just tend out to point at all details, because, perfection, just because we can! You shouldn't see them as warnings, I kinda hate that word, it might scare of newcomers. I prefer the use of feedback. You can't really go wrong, and if you might happen to do, there is always the opportunity to iterate upon it. As I mentioned, deadlines are a no-go. I really hate them. I had enough of them in recent years. See my feedback more as guidelines rather than strict rules to follow. I won't deny your work for example if you would not follow my guidelines, except of course if doesn't fit the game or is sub-par in quality. Giving feedback is also a method for myself to follow along with how you are proceeding. I am a bit of a control-freak.

I am not that strict with rules in texture pack rules anyway, but I am a massive nerd for organizing. Basically all the texture pack needs is 4K and true-to-the-intended-art-style-with-modern-technology. I can always run down the organizing myself, I really wouldn't like to scare people off with my organizing habits. I am fine with however many updates you make and how long you require. Whatever suits you best. Even if it is incomplete at the moment. All work has to start somewhere. Contributions are always welcome at any time. Given of course I still exist here around on the forums Tongue.

As I always tell people, please point out any issues they are having. I don't consider it as harsh criticism but rather an opportunity to evaluate what could be improved. It is all OK, as long you won't provide harsh criticism just for the sake of being harsh and cruel.

Carry on!

About tex1_32x16_70e67470c6c5084f_2, I don't really play in Spanish myself, but if you can confirm the texture is not having issues (perfectly readable in-game) I include it with next update.

About the logo. The original scale would be 144x8. The scale 3724x207 isn't exactly an integer scale. Yeah... That should be rescaled. Options would be 3456x192 which would be an increase of 24 times (8x3). A slight downscale. A closer scale to the current scale would be 3744x208 which would be an increase of 26 times. But that wouldn't be divisible by 8. Have you tested if a scale of 3744x208 would work? If so, I can apply that to the next update.

Thanks for your feedback! Like you said, warning was no the ideal word but when I'm writing in english I don't think many time the additional meaning than words can have.

I'll try the scale for logo textures than you comment. Today I have no more time for play but tomorrow I need stop working and have sometime for play, I hope... Smile

Hello my friend Admentus

Many thanks for all the work with the package, it will be my first time in Ocarina and I'm very excited about the game.

My friend, I have a doubt I realized that the 3D textures have all been redone and are beautiful, but the 2d / pre-rendered stages are in low resolution and very squared in my Ocarina, I wonder if it's normal or something with some My adjustment, is there anything I can do?

Thank you again

Thank you again

Most of the 2D backgrounds in Ocarina of Time are not re-textured in UHD. Some are through such as the sideways view in Link's House (top-down view is still non-HD). The issue is that Ocarina of Time contains a lot and a lot of textures for these background and that quickly becomes a nightmare. There is an upscaled pack you can download on the first page that upscales all missing backgrounds, so that is at least something. There are at least 3000 background textures missing in proper re-textured HD.

Majora's Mask on the other hand is the technologically superior. Why? Because Majora's gets almost rid of all the 2D backgrounds. Majora's Mask only uses them for the skybox which is this time massivily reduced, being only a day and night skybox for a total of 94 2D background textures.

Anyway, thank you for trying out the texture pack and have fun playing these games in glorious 1080p or 4K. Don't forget to check out this thread: AR Codes for Ocarina of Time / Master Quest / Majora's Mask for some useful AR and Gecko codes to further enhance your experience. Useful codes might include 30 FPS, hard mode, widescreen, increased draw distance and more. Don't forget to check out the later pages of that thread as well.
