Yeah I know, that's what I was saying. Kind of like a "thanks for the expert view".
Zelda: Collector's Edition HD Texture Pack V2.1 (2018-03-27)
|
Just a heads up, progress on re-retexture Majora's Mask has continued once again. More screenshot in glorious 4K will follow later, perhaps in a few days. No estimated update release time yet. Currently working on porting the parts of HUD (including the world map again) and a few more area's. The Astral Observatory was already ported a while (as well a few bits here and there in Clock Town) and will finally be included in the next update.
All thanks to Nerrel on his amazing work with the original N64 version itself. Stay tuned? Next update will be dubbed V2.1. No new improvements for Ocarina of Time through, only Majora's Mask. 03-25-2018, 03:53 AM

Thanks for this new update, Admentus.
I like the work that Nerrel is doing in his retexture project of Majora's Mask, is truly awesome and faithfull to the original art of the game. Thanks for your hard work, Nerrel!!! I will play Majora's Mask once more time to enjoy the parts that you has retextured. 03-28-2018, 01:32 AM
Be assured, I am not done yet with this project!

Thank you for the update! Any idea of what's remaining for Majora's Mask to be completed? Like, is most of the game already covered or its just the beggining?
The whole of Majora's Mask is already retextured. But progress has shifted towards replacing most of Majora's Mask with Nerrel's textures. His work is aimed at 4K and to stay faithful to the original look. The new updates are mostly dependant on Nerrel himself. To that end, I couldn't tell you how long it would take. Perhaps years?
Similar, should the Community Retexture Project for Ocarina of Time receive any update, Ocarina of Time might see some improvements as well in future updates. But basicially both games are already fully rextured from start to finish. The goal is now shifted towards finding suitable textures which stays true to the original look while being suitable for 4K. Update V0.1 towards V1.0 were aimed at completing the majority of Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, where update V1.0 indicated both games were ran from the start to the end. Update V1.1 to V1.4 were aimed at adding all missing characters, updating icons to a higher quality and adding the parts which were missed the first time (mostly pieces of environment). Onwards from V2.0 indicated the replacing of textures of Majora's Mask with Nerrel's textures. With V1.3 both games were fully retextured. V1.4 adding some missing parts for the virtual console version of Majora's Mask and some of the disc menu textures while supporting DDS BC7 for the first time too. 03-28-2018, 09:09 AM

My pack has the intro sequence, clock town, termina field, and the sky done. Basically, the hub of the game is finished. The UI, text and menus are all also done. From here, I have to do the environments in the four cardinal directions, the characters, and the effects. The game heavily reuses textures with no apparent difference other than filename, so by doing everything up until Termina field I've already finished a decent amount of this; existing textures usually just have to be copied and renamed. I just went to the swordsmith in the mountains and found that half the textures for the cabin were recycled from clock town. Open environments, which all four directions pretty much are, are also easier to retexture since they have fewer objects and just use a few big textures to fill space. The temples will be harder, since they're more densely packed. It's taken me a year and a half to make the progress I have due to needing to work and go to school at the same time. I graduate this May, which will free up a lot of time to devote to finishing this... I expect it to take about another year. 04-08-2018, 06:10 AM
Hi forum.
I've just discovered the concept of using custom textures in Dolphin and am trying to install and use this pack for Zelda, but I'm not having much success. I'm running the D43P01 version (OOT & OOT:MQ Europe), so I've downloaded the v2.0 texture pack and extracted the PZL folder inside it to C:\Users\TheJase\Documents\Dolphin Emulator\Load\Textures, then renamed PZL to D43P01. I followed the rest of the instructions: - Enable 'Enable CPU Clock Override' and set to 250% - Enable 'Load Custom Textures' - Enable 'Prefetch Custom Textures' When I start the game, I see the message at the top-left: "Custom Textures loaded, 0.0 MB in 1.4 s" and see no HD textures in game. I've double-checked that I've properly extracted the texture pack to the right location. I also tried renaming D43P01 to just D43. It made no difference. Any suggestions what's wrong? Thanks.
