OK, posting again as my last thread has been killed nicly.

My specs: AMD X4 640 overclocked to 4 x 3,3 Ghz, Radeon HD 2400, 2 GB RAM, WinXP SP3, latest DirectX, Dolphin 3.0 GIT 600 ICC Optimized. But the problem occurs on any Dolphin, even 2.0

Vector objects are in the wrong order. E.g. in Mario Bros Wii - the round points on which Mario stands on the map are in front of Mario so I only see his head.

In some programs z-buffer related stuff can be configured but there is simply no such thing in Dolphin. What can be done?

Screenshots of your graphics settings and one demonstrating the problem would help us help you. Also, is it just NSMB or are you getting this elsewhere too?

Do what Shonumi said, but I've already seen this issue, and it's an ATI driver/video card issue. My HD6650 does not have this issue, my HD3650 does.

It happens in almost all games I've installed on my machine. I have not that much installed as I'm using my config in a real arcade cab with regular arcade controls so only games like Super Mario Bros, Mario Kart or Donkey Kong Country makes sense. The Radeon HD 2400 sure is a weak graphics card for PC games but as I'm only using 640 x 480 with standard settings I get 60 frames in all games installed.

I'm not a programer but I wonder why that z-buffer problems only occur in Dolphin. I've many emulators installed like Project64, PCSX2, nullDC etc. and none of them show such behavior. Is it a Wii-related problem, a problem of the emulator or really only a problem of the graphics card/driver? It's interesting that this problem does not occur on my iMac with a Radeon HD 4850 (but with Win7)...

As I said, I'm not a programer but can't there be some options for z-buffer be included in the settings? If still necessary I could post screenshots - how can I upload such images here?

considering the entire Radeon HD 2000 and up are all capable of 32bit int and float point Z ordering, i don't see why it would have issues with Z ordering, apart from driver regressions.

Many things on Windows can not be understood by any logic. That's the way Windows works... Wink

I really wonder what causes that behavior. Especially because no other polygon using game having such troubles. It's a Dolphin-only thing.
