I think that most Gamecube games looked amazing. Most Gamecube games just had a visual quality that was fantastic and will stay in my heart for ever. In fact, one of the whole reasons I even use a Gamecube emulator is so that I can play these beautiful games as high resolutions that really show off the superb artistry that went into my favorite games.

I'm sure a lot of people here would agree.

I'd really like to see some screenshot threads on this forum. A place where people can post some of the magnificent in-game renders they've pulled off with Dolphin.
Not just one thread where people are showing off pictures, but like a whole section where each title can get a dedicated thread. ( Like how each game already has a dedicated thread for support, but just to have one dedicated to screenshots.) If there's a whole section dedicated to it, I think it would encourage more people to share their screenshots.

And okay, maybe it's too big of a change to ask for right out-of-the-box, but if anyone else here is interested, then let's post some screenshots, and if enough people show interest maybe we could get some dedicated threads, and then eventually a dedicated section.

Who's with me? Show what you got! Show that amazing artistry from the Gamecube and the Wii!

(PS, I understand if the mods want to set rules for image hosting so as not to tax their servers; that's totally fine.)

I think it would be nice in general if there was a place where users were encouraged to talk about Wii/GC games (in addition to posting screenshots). I know I'm always on the lookout for new communities to discuss Wii games. But I feel like there might not be enough user interest for that to occur. Most users come on here to post support or requests related to the emulator itself. I think it is for that reason that the screenshot thread was created because there's very few users wanting to talk about the game / share their usage via screenshots. I may be wrong though!

Not sure we need a thread per game (many forums have a single thread for screenshots) but a forum for non-support issues on GC/Wii would be nice.

Yeah, come to think of it, there really isn't a place besides Delfino Plaza to just talk about the games themselves (in a manner that's not related to support in Dolphin). Delfino Plaza's more of a "discuss anything" kinda forum, but if there's enough interest, it might be nice to have a dedicated forum to talk about the GC and Wii games.

A lot of game-related discussion doesn't happen these days though, even in places like Delfino Plaza or its Random thread. Guess places like Reddit and Discord channels have taken the spotlight, where these kinds of communities can widely gather new members and such. So if there's enough interest here, it's worth considering.

Definitely a nice find, but most of the links are dead and I can't search for screenshots by game.  Still, it's a nice start.  Thank you.

I could get behind that.

It's a fair point, but also, one of the things that happens is potential-new-members will look over a forum first to see if it is even the kind of place where they can/would want to make their contributions.
I have seen a number of forums where I've come to it and looked over all the sub-forums and thought that there wasn't really a place for the thing I wanted to post.
If people want this forum to foster more discussion on a given subject, well, make a place for it and see what grows.
If it doesn't take, it doesn't take.  But if people come by don't see a sub-forum dedicated to the thing they were looking for, it sends the message that this isn't really the place to talk about that thing, and they move on without ever trying.
In its current form, this forum looks like it is only for Dolphin support and development.  If the "off-topic" sub-forum is the only place to talk about how great Mario Sunshine is, then it's not the kind of place where people go to talk about how great Mario Sunshine is.

But hey, it's not my forum, and I don't know what this community is like.  I'm just a guy who wanted to snag some sweet sweet screenshots.

Thanks Shonumi! Yeah, I can't speak for others but I didn't realize Delfino Plaza was the place to discuss Wii/GC games in general. Just the way the other forums are grouped and worded, it felt like Delfino was for other consoles, life stuff, etc. Re-reading now I see I probably took it the wrong but that was my initial impression Smile.

I too am curious how much interest there would be. I could see it either way. Regardless, appreciate you considering it.

To be clear, I think I dedicated sub-forum (maybe just called Game Discussion?) would be nice to have. It would probably be in the same "Off-Topic" sub-category we have. So imagine seeing Delfino Plaza as it's own subforum, and grouped right below it this new "Game Discussion" forum. It would also probably have the same rules regarding post counts (i.e. posts there do not increase your post count).

I'd like to get a consensus with the other members of Forum Staff, so I'll have to come up with a proposal. Even if this "Game Discussion" forum doesn't get used as much as the rest of the site, it'd still be helpful. As I said, not a lot of game-related stuff does happen, but it tends to get compressed into the Random thread. In my view, it'd be good to have a separate place to have those kinds of discussions. Otherwise one giant thread like Random with lot of good ideas and topics tends to get mangled and muddled over time.
