that is what im getting when i load some games. I use an XBox pad on my pc as i only have a wired sensor bar on the Wii.

Anyone got any idea how i can get past this?

Not sure, but maybe try this:

Options -> Wiimote Settings -> Wiimote 1 = Emulated Wiimote

It's already set as that, needed to use it to get past start up. i'm encountering this problem just before what i can presume is the games actual menu. i can play several games with this same pad and set up. just this one is doing it and really peeing me off
