Hey Guys,

first of all, sorry for my bad English. I hopy you can understand me anyway.

Problem:

I have bought an original Wiimote (Plus) + Nunchuk. The Device is installed and connected ( allegedly ). See Images.
But when i turn on the Wiimote the 4 Lights are blinking - like it is not connected -. My System: Windows 8.1 Pro x64. Any Ideas?..

I have the same problem. Using Dolphin 4.0-7947x64. I've tried it on x32 and 3.5x64 and x32. I've tried it on 2 different systems. One is a W10 i7 960 3.2 Ghz 9GB Ram, Nvidia GTX 660. Dolphin usually locks up and have to end task it after clicking refresh. I tried it on a laptop with Win8 on it and it behaves exactly the same way. I bought a fairly cheap bluetooth adapter for my W10. It's a real Wiimote Plus I just bought new at Best Buy. It installs and pairs with no problems in both W10 and W8 systems. The laptop has built in Bluetooth.

I've seen people using it on YouTube successfully, but every tutorial or instructions I've seen just go through the obvious steps.

I just set up my mouse and keyboard. I started using Dolphin so I could play Metroid Prime and it works really really well with the mouse/keyboard setup so I'll probably just take this overpriced Wiimote back and save the money.

Still, it would be cool to use it. I've used it on a Wii and it's a nice control setup. Is there anyone out there who can give some advice on how to get Dolphin to actually recognize a real Wiimote? Is this a known issue? I haven't found much if any advice on this forum or anywhere else. Most people just say "keep trying, restart windows/dolphin, reinstall BT, re-pair the Wiimote" and of course I've tried all that and it either does nothing or locks up Dolphin.

I feel maybe I'm doing something wrong. Should I pair it with Windows first or just get it to recognize and pair through Dolphin? 4.0 and 3.5 seems to handle it differently. There's no 'pair' button on 4.0. It's really unclear how the recognize/pair/connect procedure is supposed to work. Also, do I have to have the IR bar, too?

Lots of questions, I know. Sorry. I've been trying to get this to work for several days now with no luck except the mouse/keyboard setup.

This is amazing. Thank you! I'll try this out on my Win10 system and report back!

I'm at work on a break so I decided to try this on my Win8 laptop. The Toshiba installation went fine and I was able to get it to register and connect to the Wiimote. I fired up Dolphin4 and launched Metroid Prime Trilogy. I'm pleased to report the Wiimote actually connected! The cursor didn't show up on the screen though so I'm not sure it's working properly yet or not. I have to get back to work but the initial report looks good.

I'll try this on my Win10 system in a few hours and see if my BT dongle will work with the Toshiba drivers.

Still, the lack of a cursor on the screen tells me something isn't right. It's still unclear if you need the IR bar or not. It seems like you do to get it to track the remote for the cursor... am I wrong?

Ok I did some searching and it turns out you DO need the damn IR sensor bar to play games like Metroid or other FPS type games. Great. Basically this whole time I'm thinking all I needed was the Wiimote and nunchuk but I'm wrong! Mouse/Keyboard control still looking like the best option. It's certainly cheaper, and the only one currently working properly Smile

You dont need the IR directly. Two Tea Lights are fine too Smile

At first I thought you were messing with me but I'll be damned. Apparently this works: http://www.instructables.com/id/how-to-play-a-wii-without-the-sensor/ I'm gonna try it!

I still ordered a Mayflash DolphinBar. Hopefully the candles work until it arrives. It was only $15 which is probably less than I would spend in candles over time. lol Smile
