I'm building a dedicated emulation box to that I'm going to use to play all systems up to and including Gamecube and Wii so obviously I'll be running Dolphin for that. I've seen some mention that Dolphin runs faster on a 64-bit OS. However from what I've seen a lot of the old school (NES/SNES/N64 etc.) emulators seem to run better on XP 32-bit. I really want to get them all working with as little technical issues as possible. Suggestions?
XP vs 7 64 bit?

Windows 7 x64 is the best choice for everything. There really is no legitimate reason to use Windows XP anymore.

Dolphin has cut off support for Windows XP x64 because XP x64 driver compatibility is crap

Besides , there is no Directx11 backend option for XP . Some games need Directx11 backend to run properly
