Hello, I'm here trying to understand some issues I'm going through with my Xiaomi device, in running Dolphin.
First, I'd like to precise that I'm french, and my english isn't perfect.
I just purchased this phone, like 3 days ago, and while the Snapdragon 660 won't give me full and fluid performance in emulation, I gave it a try. I downloaded a "MMJ" version of Dolphin (I don't even know what it is) and got some of my games to my phone:
- Mario Party 5
- Animal Crossing
- Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World
I was surprised to get solid 60 fps out of the first two games, as well as for ToS, but sometimes, get down to 55fps+, but it wasn't annoying.
I played a whole day without problems. Before playing, I changed some settings, so I would play with Vulkan and at 1x resolution.
But yesterday in the evening, things started getting quite annoying.
Without changing any settings, I suddenly couldn't play ToS anymore because I would get 30-40 fps. I try different settings, as well as trying other versions of Dolphin, but I could not get my initial performance again.
I did an Antutu benchmark, because I thought It could be Hardware and if so, I would get lower scores, but I did not and I got 144000, which is I think normal for my phone.
I'm actually running Android 8.1.0 and MIUI 10 and going to do the android 9 update that I got this morning.
All I can say, is that after installing Dolphin, I did install and uninstall DamonPs2 (I didn't know that it was some paid "garbage" using pscx2 and Play! source code), as well as Aptoide. I did also set up a "Second Space" setting, allowing me to use another mail etc, I don't know if something could have interfered with Dolphin.
I'm probably not going to play GC/Wii games often, because it was not the main reason of my purchase, but I would like to understand why am I getting this issue, so I could know better how it is functionning.
If someone could help me or give me advices/hints, I would be grateful.
If needed, I'll give any information of Hardware/Dolphin versions etc.
I'm sorry if some sections of my message aren't really understandable and thank you in advance for your responses.
